Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Harrison Ford. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire. During the course of the Star Wars story, he becomes a chief figure in the Alliance and succeeding galactic governments. Star Wars creator George Lucas described the character as "a loner who realizes the importance of being part of a group and helping for the common good".
Han Solo is introduced in Star Wars (1977), when he and his copilot Chewbacca accept a charter request to transport Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, C-3PO and R2-D2 to Alderaan on their ship, the Millennium Falcon. Han owes crime lord Jabba the Hutt a great deal of money after losing his cargo, and has a price on his head; when the bounty hunter Greedo tries to deliver him to Jabba, Han shoots him and prepares to leave. Han and his passengers are attacked by Imperial stormtroopers, but escape after going into light speed. When they arrive at Alderaan, however, they discover that the planet has been destroyed. The Falcon is then captured and held within the Death Star, a moon-sized battle station constructed by the Galactic Empire. Han and company hide from detection inside the Falcon's smuggling bays, and infiltrate the station disguised as stormtroopers. They discover that Princess Leia Organa is a prisoner on board, and Luke convinces Han to help rescue her by promising him a huge reward. They rescue Leia and escape after Obi-Wan is killed by Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Han is a monotypic genus of agnostid trilobite, whose sole member is Han solo. The type specimen of H. solo was found in marine strata of the Arenig to Llanvirn-aged Zitai Formation of Middle Ordovician southern China, and is named after the character in Star Wars.
This taxon was erected in 2005, based upon fossil material found in beds of lower Zitai Formation exposed in Maocaopu, Reshi, Taoyuan County in north Hunan, China. Fossil material include a cephalon and two pygidia. It was found to belong to family Diplagnostidae, subfamily Pseudagnostinae; it was originally thought to be most closely related to the genus Pseudorhaptagnostus, but it differed substantially from that genus in both some important diagnostic characters, and in the age of the beds in it was deposited, so a new genus was erected.
According to the original publication, the generic name Han is a reference to the Han Chinese, the largest ethnic group in present-day China; and the specific epithet solo refers to the fact that the species is the youngest Diplagnostidae fossil found to that date, suggesting that it was the last surviving member of that family. However, Samuel Turvey has stated elsewhere that he named it after Han Solo because some friends dared him to name a species after a Star Wars character.
Solo is the musical outfit of Dutch musicians Michiel Flamman and Simon Gitsels. The duo released two albums, of which the latest Solopeople was the biggest success. The album released on label Excelsior Recordings spawned a Dutch top 20 hit with Come Back To Me.
In 2003 Flamman and Gitsels team up under the name Solo. By then both have already paid their dues in the music industry. Flamman performed under the name J. Perkin and wrote songs for other artists. Gitsels worked as sessions musician for Mathilde Santing and Birgit.
A year later the duo signs with Excelsior Recordings. On this label Solo releases its debut album Songs ‘n Sounds on August 16. The record is produced by Martijn Groeneveld and contains contributions from Minco Eggersman (at the close of every day), Rowin Tettero (Mindmeners) and Marg van Eenbergen (Seedling). The latter two also support Flamman and Gitsels during live shows. In November Solo receives an Essent award.
Solo is an orange-flavoured soft drink, owned by the Norwegian companies Ringnes, Oskar Sylte, Aass, and Mack. The recipe was originally Spanish, and brought to the Tønsberg Bryggeri by Torleif Gulliksrud in 1934. Solo quickly became Norway's most popular soft drink, and until the 1960s was bigger than Coca-Cola in Norway. In 1999, Pepsi passed Solo in market share, leaving Solo as third most popular.
As of 2005, Solo has a seven percent share of the Norwegian soft drink market. Variants of the original Solo include Solo Super (less sugar), Solo Sunset and Solrik (juice).

Han may refer to:
The han (藩 han) or domain is the Japanese historical term for the estate of a warrior after the 12th century or of a daimyo in the Edo period and early Meiji period.
In the Sengoku period, Hideyoshi Toyotomi caused a transformation of the han system. The feudal system based on land became an abstraction based on periodic cadastral surveys and projected agricultural yields.
In Japan, a feudal domain was defined in terms of projected annual income. This was different from the feudalism of the West. For example, early Japanologists like Appert and Papinot made a point of highlighting the annual koku yields which were allocated for the Shimazu clan at Satsuma Domain since the 12th century.
In 1690, the richest han was the Kaga Domain with slightly over 1 million koku. It was in Kaga, Etchu and Noto provinces.
In the Edo period, the domains of daimyo are defined in terms of kokudaka, not land area. Imperial provincial subdivisions and shogunal domain subdivisions were complementary systems. For example, when the shogun ordered daimyo to make a census of its people or to make maps, the work was organized along the borders of the provincial kuni.
Come on baby take a chance with me
Don't change the channel like you're watching TV
Turn up the volume I've got more to say
I think if we could start conversing we'd be chatting all day
And in the evening we could choose
To roll a spliff, cook some dinner and kick off our shoes
Step into night, we could live our delight
Come together in a frenzy when the feeling's all right
And in the morning I bet there would be
Time for toast, another spliff, a cup of Rooibos Tea
We've got the music and we've got the time
We've got rhythm, we've got music, we've got Cape Town sunshine
You're not the only...
Only one life to live
Too many paths to choose
I've got a bridge to burn (I must express this truth)
It seems our time is through
I wouldn't lie to you
I want to go now (I must express this truth)
But don't get so stressed with me
You're not the only fish
Who's swimming in my sea (I must express this truth)
It's not like I care but I thought you'd understand
Another day I'd have more to say
But playtime is over, I'll be on my way
Another date we could stay up late
Climb the roof, watch the stars intertwine our fates
Under another Sun I would be the one
But what do you know? Look at the time! Seems I've got to run.
Cos there are things that I can't control
See I'm a man with a plan that just doesn't involve you
I get restless, there's a thought on my mind
I'm no monogamous man, I am a creature of a different kind
I'm on a trip, I must admit
I've got my eyes on a prize
That makes love look like shit
And like they say this could easily be
The last time that you get a chance to hear from me
I gotta go on a spontaneous flow
And where this road will end, well, I just don't know
I get a grip, no emotional slips
I want a tattoo on the side of my dick
That says "Han Solo"
But I fear what I can't control
And you're not the only...
Only one life to live
Too many paths to choose
I've got a bridge to burn (I must express this truth)
It seems our time is through
I wouldn't lie to you
I want to go now (I must express this truth)
But don't get so stressed with me
You're not the only fish
Who's swimming in my sea (I must express this truth)
It's not like I care but I thought you'd understand
Come on baby take a chance with me
