Han (trilobite)

Han is a monotypic genus of agnostid trilobite, whose sole member is Han solo. The type specimen of H. solo was found in marine strata of the Arenig to Llanvirn-aged Zitai Formation of Middle Ordovician southern China, and is named after the character in Star Wars.

Taxonomy

This taxon was erected in 2005, based upon fossil material found in beds of lower Zitai Formation exposed in Maocaopu, Reshi, Taoyuan County in north Hunan, China. Fossil material include a cephalon and two pygidia. It was found to belong to family Diplagnostidae, subfamily Pseudagnostinae; it was originally thought to be most closely related to the genus Pseudorhaptagnostus, but it differed substantially from that genus in both some important diagnostic characters, and in the age of the beds in it was deposited, so a new genus was erected.

Etymology

According to the original publication, the generic name Han is a reference to the Han Chinese, the largest ethnic group in present-day China; and the specific epithet solo refers to the fact that the species is the youngest Diplagnostidae fossil found to that date, suggesting that it was the last surviving member of that family. However, Samuel Turvey has stated elsewhere that he named it after Han Solo because some friends dared him to name a species after a Star Wars character.

Haná

Haná or Hanakia (Czech: Haná or Hanácko, German: Hanna or Hanakei) is an ethnic region in central Moravia in the Czech Republic. Its main parts are located in the lowlands of the rivers of Morava and Haná. It is roughly encircled by the cities of Zábřeh, Holešov, Vyškov and Uničov. Haná is primarily known for its agricultural productivity, costumes, and traditional customs. The Haná dialect (Hanakian dialect or Central Moravian dialect; Czech: hanáčtina) is spoken in the region, and is part of the Central Moravian dialect group. This traditional dialect has been preserved and continues to be used even in printed publications from the region. Folk music from Haná is recognized locally by its lyrics in the Haná dialect.

Name

In the 18th and 19th century, the term "Hanack" (Hanák, French: Hanaque), was used for a Slavic people, peasants, in Moravia. Today, the Czech term Hanáci is used for an ethnographic group inhabiting the Haná region.

The West Wing (season 5)

The fifth season of the American political drama television series The West Wing aired in the United States on NBC from September 24, 2003, to May 19, 2004, and consisted of 22 episodes. This was the first season with executive producer John Wells as showrunner after series creator Aaron Sorkin departed the series after the conclusion of the previous season.

Cast

The fifth season had star billing for nine major roles, all nine of these were filled by returning main cast members from the fourth season. Martin Sheen receives the "and" credit for his role as President Josiah Bartlet. The rest of the ensemble are credited alphabetically, while Channing is only credited for the episodes in which she appears
