Pentagonal prism

In geometry, the pentagonal prism is a prism with a pentagonal base. It is a type of heptahedron with 7 faces, 15 edges, and 10 vertices.

As a semiregular (or uniform) polyhedron

If faces are all regular, the pentagonal prism is a semiregular polyhedron, more generally, a uniform polyhedron, and the third in an infinite set of prisms formed by square sides and two regular polygon caps. It can be seen as a truncated pentagonal hosohedron, represented by Schläfli symbol t{2,5}. Alternately it can be seen as the Cartesian product of a regular pentagon and a line segment, and represented by the product {5}x{}. The dual of a pentagonal prism is a pentagonal bipyramid.

The symmetry group of a right pentagonal prism is D_5h of order 20. The rotation group is D₅ of order 10.

Volume

Pip (musician)

Pip (born "Phillip Andrew Arnold" in Marietta, Georgia on April 26, 1992) is an American funk-pop artist who participated in season 2 of The Voice as part of Team Adam Levine.

Early life

During his childhood, Pip was interested in music, reading, lacrosse, and Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009.

Pip's musical aspirations were fostered by his older sister who holds a degree in musical theater. Growing up in a large musical family Pip learned to play various instruments, mainly piano, sang lead in local shows, and performed/entertained in the Marietta area. During four years at Kennesaw Mountain High School Pip starred in several plays, landing the lead of Huckleberry Finn during his senior year in the musical Big River.

The Glee Project and The Voice

Pip auditioned in 2011 for Oxygen show The Glee Project Season 1, landing a spot only on the first episode's audition rounds. In 2011 Pip was chosen as 1 of 5 select performers from Atlanta's 11alive "The Voice" VIP Early Auditions Contest (Pip was selected during a blind audition by co-host Chesley McNeil). Pip moved forward into national auditions and was picked as 1 of 120 contestants to fly out to Studio City, California for the blind auditions of NBCUniversal TV reality show The Voice.

Music

Hallelujah! (film)

Hallelujah! is a 1929 American Pre-Code Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical directed by King Vidor, and starring Daniel L. Haynes and Nina Mae McKinney.

Filmed in Tennessee and Arkansas and chronicling the troubled quest of a sharecropper, Zeke Johnson (Haynes), and his relationship with the seductive Chick (McKinney), Hallelujah was one of the first all-black films by a major studio. It was intended for a general audience and was considered so risky a venture by MGM that they required King Vidor to invest his own salary in the production. Vidor expressed an interest in "showing the Southern Negro as he is" and attempted to present a relatively non-stereotyped view of African-American life.

Hallelujah! was King Vidor's first sound film, and combined sound recorded on location and sound recorded post-production in Hollywood. King Vidor was nominated for a Best Director Oscar for the film.

In 2008, Hallelujah! was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Hallelujah (album)

Hallelujah is the fourth album by Canned Heat, released in 1969. It was re-released on CD in 2001 by MAM productions with four bonus tracks. It was the last album to feature classic lineup mark 1, as Vestine left the band prior to Future Blues.
