HMS E35 was a British E class submarine built by John Brown, Clydebank. She was laid down on 20 May 1916 and was commissioned on 14 July 1917.
E35 sank U-154 (one of the 1,512 ton U-boat cruisers originally designed as cargo carrying blockade runners) off the island of Madeira on 11 May 1918. This sinking was helped by British intelligence who had learned of a planned rendezvous between two U-boats off Cape St Vincent. E35 was sold in Newcastle on 6 September 1922.
Like all post-E8 British E-class submarines, E35 had a displacement of 622 tonnes (686 short tons) at the surface and 807 tonnes (890 short tons) while submerged. It had a total length of 180 feet (55 m) and a beam length of 22 feet 8.5 inches (6.922 m). It contained two diesel engines each providing a power of 1,600 horsepower (1,200 kW) and two electric motors each providing 840 horsepower (630 kW) power. Its complement was thirty-one crew members.
The submarine had a maximum surface speed of 16 knots (30 km/h; 18 mph) and a submerged speed of 10 knots (19 km/h; 12 mph). British E-class submarines had fuel capacities of 50 tonnes (55 short tons) of diesel and ranges of 3,255 miles (5,238 km; 2,829 nmi) when travelling at 10 knots (19 km/h; 12 mph).E35 was capable of operating submerged for five hours when travelling at 5 knots (9.3 km/h; 5.8 mph). It was fitted with a 12 pounds (5.4 kg) quick-firing gun gun (12 pounder), five 18 inches (460 mm) torpedo tubes, and one spare torpedo tube. Its torpedo tubes were fitted at the front and the aft; unlike pre-E9 submarines, the two midship section torpedo tubes were not included.
They fight and it never seems like it ends.
"Are you too busytonight?"
When all of your children cry,
"Oh God, when will it end!?"
Will we ever see the day
The world stands as one?
Love and peace arehidden
Somewhere under this sun.
We are on our knees and
Praying to endthis war.
Time will already murder
What they are fighting for.
Justifybelief in a God that's left you behind,
But we're still hoping tonight
That our prayers and our wishes,
Find a way through their hearts.
Will we ever see the day
The world stands as one?
Love and peace arehidden
Somewhere under this sun.
We are on our knees and
Praying to endthis war.
Time will already murder
What they are fighting for.
All of this time their burning down bridges.
All of this time warsfought from religions.
All of this time spent burning the witches.
All of this time they're fighting for riches.
All of this time theirbreaking the stitches
All of this time their dying in ditches.
