H. M. Reddy

H. M. Reddy (born Hanumappa Muniappa Reddy; 12 June 1892 - 14 January 1960) was an Indian film producer, and director known for his works in Telugu cinema. He directed the first south Indian talkie film Kalidas shot in Tamil and Telugu. He then produced and directed the first full length Telugu sound film, Bhakta Prahlada in 1932.

Early career

Reddy worked as assistant director to Ardeshir Irani, who produced first Indian talkie film Alam Ara. Subsequently Reddy produced the first south Indian talkie.

Telugu people who got bored with non spoken movies have been freed by H.M.Reddy’S first Talkie film ‘Bhaktha Prahaladha’. Currently, Telugu cinema has been developed and it is our duty to remember the service of the first director of Telugu film industry, H.M.Reddy, who was pioneered the Telugu cinema to next level.

Born on 12 June 1892, H.M Reddy full name was Hanumappa Muniappa Reddy. He studied in Bangalore and has worked as Inspector of Police there. Later he left the job as he was not interested to work for the Britishers. With an interest in the field of cinema, he next turned to Mumbai to research on Telugu movies. There he worked as Reflector boy in a studio at Mumbai and observed every part in the production field. Next he worked as assistant to Ardeshir Irani, creator of the first Indian talkie Alam Ara. Later he got a golden chance to direct the “Vijay Kumar”, a silent movie, in the year 1930. In 1931 he has taken up a Talkie project “Bhaktha Prahaladha” under Ardeshir Irani Gane production and it was a big hit.

Īhām

Īhām in Persian, Kurdish and Arabic poetry is a literary device in which an author uses a word, or an arrangement of words, that can be read in several ways. Each of the meanings may be logically sound, equally true and intended.

Definitions

In the 12th century, Rashid al-Din Vatvat defined īhām as follows: "Īhām in Persian means to create doubt. This is a literary device, also called takhyīl [to make one suppose and fancy], whereby a writer (dabīr), in prose, or a poet, in verse, employs a word with two different meanings, one direct and immediate (qarīb) and the other remote and strange (gharīb), in such a manner that the listener, as soon as he hears that word, thinks of its direct meaning while in actuality the remote meaning is intended."

Amir Khusrow (1253–1325 CE) introduced the notion that any of the several meanings of a word, or phrase, might be equally true and intended, creating a multilayered text. Discerning the various layers of meanings would be a challenge to the reader, who has to focus on and keep turning over the passage in his mind, applying his erudition and imagination to perceive alternative meanings.

Hami City

Kumul (Kumul) (قومول) (Uyghur: قۇمۇل‎, ULY: Qumul, UYY: K̡umul^?) or Hami (Chinese: 哈密; pinyin: Hāmì) is an oasis city and the seat of Hami Prefecture, eastern Xinjiang, People's Republic of China; it is also the name of a modern city and the surrounding district. Geography and climate

Hami (Kumul) is in a fault depression at 759 m (2,490 ft) above sea level, and has a temperate zone, continental desert climate (Köppen BWk) (see Hami Desert), with extreme differences between summer and winter, and dry, sunny weather year-round. On average, there is only 39 mm (1.54 in) of precipitation annually, occurring on 25 days of the year. With monthly percent possible sunshine ranging from 68% in December to 79% in September and October, the city receives 3,285 hours of bright sunshine annually, making it one of the sunniest nationally. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from −10.4 °C (13.3 °F) in January to 26.5 °C (79.7 °F) in July, while the annual mean is 9.95 °C (49.9 °F). The diurnal temperature variation is typically large, approaching an average 15 °C (27 °F) for the year.

10 Hronia Mazi

10 H.M. (Short for 10 Hronia Mazi, Greek: 10 Χρόνια Μαζί; English: 10 Years Together) is an album released by Greek singer Despina Vandi starting on December 6, 2007. It is her 12th album from the beginning of her career, and her 10th album with Phoebus. It is also her first studio album of new material since her 2004 release of Stin Avli Tou Paradisou. The album is dedicated to the 10-year collaboration with Phoebus and features a track of the same name. The album is a triple CD, with the first CD containing pop/rock songs, the second CD containing Modern Laika songs and third CD containing new remixes of older songs. The album is completely written and produced by Phoebus and released by Heaven Music. The main sponsor is WIND Hellas.

On June 24, 2008, the album was repackaged with the title 10 Hronia Mazi: It's Destiny as one disc. The repackaged version includes the song "Destiny" by Schiller featuring Despina Vandi that was composed by Phoebus. The one-disc repackage version features all the songs from the original first and second discs, excluding all the remixes (with the exception of "Ta Lefta" (Remix)) and disc three.

History

In 1946 the company's founder Erling Persson came up with the business idea of offering fashionable clothing at attractive prices. In 1947 he opened his first shop Västerås, Sweden "Hennes", which exclusively sold women's clothing. "Hennes" is Swedish and means "hers". In 1968 Persson acquired the hunting apparel retailer Mauritz Widforss, which led to the inclusion of a menswear collection in the product range and the name change to "Hennes & Mauritz" (H&M).
