Way Out (Roxette song)

"Way Out", written by Per Gessle and performed by Swedish pop duo Roxette, is the third single released from their eighth studio album Charm School. It was released solely in Germany and Austria, who decided to release another uptempo single, following the success of "She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio)".

Music video

The music video was made with a budget of 50 pounds.It was shot on a Super 8 Camera,with the production taking only half a day. The clip depicts the band playing inside a white room as well as a fair and an underground pedestrian crossing.

Way Out (TV series)

Way Out (note that the on-screen title begins with an apostrophe) is a 1961 fantasy and science fiction television anthology series hosted by writer Roald Dahl. The macabre, black-and-white, 25-minute shows were introduced by Dahl, his face projected in a disconcerting hall of mirrors effect, dryly delivering a brief introductory monologue, expounding on such unusual subjects as undertakers or frogs or murdering a romantic rival with ground tiger's whiskers.

The taped series began because CBS needed a replacement for a Jackie Gleason talk show that network executives were about to cancel, and producer David Susskind contacted Dahl to help mount a show quickly. The series was paired by the network with the similar The Twilight Zone for Friday evening broadcasts, running from March through July 1961 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time. The show's primary sponsor was Liggett & Myers (L&M cigarettes). Writers included Philip H. Reisman, Jr. and Sumner Locke Elliott.

The premiere episode, "William and Mary", adapted from a Roald Dahl short story, told of a wife getting revenge on her husband.

No Way Out (song)

"No Way Out" is a song by the English singer Phil Collins from the Brother Bear film soundtrack.

Production

Two different versions of the song are placed onto the Brother Bear soundtrack. One is 4:18 minutes long and rock-driven, while the other is 2:37 minutes long and a more mellow keyboard-driven version.

Scene

The scene where the song is heard sees Kenai being forced to tell Koda that he killed his mother when he was a human. He is remorseful but Koda looks horrified and runs away in fear.

Critical reception

GenesisNews said the song is a "compact...strong balled" and reminiscent of older Phil Collins songs such as I Wish It Would Rain Down due to its "speed, harmonies and female backing vocals". Allmusic deemed it "forgettable ".

In the context of the film, No Way Out has been highly criticised for drowning out the dialogue in the film's climactic scene with generic pop lyrics.

No Way Out of Texas: In Your House

No Way Out of Texas: In Your House was the twentieth pay-per-view event under the In Your House name produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It took place on February 15, 1998, at the Compaq Center in Houston, Texas and was presented by Western Union.

It was the first of a series of In Your House events which later became the title of annual pay-per-views, replacing the method at the time of making new names for all events aside from the 'Big Four' (the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and the Survivor Series) and King of the Ring. However, because later events did not take place in Texas, it was truncated to No Way Out and would not become a regular feature until 2000.

Shawn Michaels did not appear in the main event as advertised, owing to a severe back injury that resulted in his first retirement after the following month's WrestleMania XIV. He was replaced by Savio Vega.

Background

Due to jealousy over his wife and valet, Sable, receiving all the attention of the audience, Marc Mero sought to annoy the crowd by sending Sable from ringside and instead being accompanied by The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust who first dressed up as Sable and then later, in a nod to the popular song "The Beautiful People", as Marilyn Manson. Metalheads and cross dressers The Headbangers, took exception to this.

No Way Out (Spanish band)

No Way Out is a Spanish band was created in 1998 in Cerdañola del Vallés, Barcelona, Spain. It is composed of Noel Campillo (guitar and vocals), Felix Muñiz (bass and vocals) and Sergi Monroy (drums).

Their musical style is an evolution from melodic hardcore in their early stages, to pop punk nowadays. Their first recorded demo was a nine-single album called Having fun at last.

It was followed by Long way to Nowhere in 2001, which was presented in several foreign countries such as Belgium, France and Japan.

On 25 October 2005, a new album, Bipolar, was released on a double-CD format including a Spanish and an English version of the songs. It was produced by Warner Bros. with Joe Marlett’s contribution, well known for working with bands like Blink-182 or Foo Fighters.

Their last and most successful album is Lo Que Dura Dura, which has pop-rock influences with a touch of their old pop-punk. Two famous singles from this album are “Lo Mismo” and “En Mil Pedazos”.

They are now working on their fifth album which will include the single “Sed”, first heard in New Moon, the movie sequel to Twilight.

Hydrogen disulfide

Hydrogen disulfide (H₂S₂) is an inorganic compound. It is a malodorous oil. It decomposes readily to hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and elemental sulfur.

Structure

The structure of hydrogen disulfide is similar to that of hydrogen peroxide, with two central sulfur atoms and two outer hydrogen atoms. However, the skew angle of the molecule is different, as the H-S-S bond in hydrogen disulfide has a near-standard 90° torsion angle of the syn conformer.

Skew angle in the H₂S₂ molecule is 90.6°, compared with 113.7° in H₂O₂. Molecular dimensions in these two molecules are: O-O, O-H, S-S and S-H bonds have lengths of 1.490, 0.970, 2.055 and 1.352 ångströms respectively.

Synthesis and reactions

Hydrogen disulfide can be synthesised by dissolving alkali or alkali earth metal polysulfides in water. When the solution is mixed with concentrated hydrochloric acid at −15 °C, a yellow oil consisting a mixture of polysulfanes (H₂S_n) will pool below the aqueous layer. Fractional distillation of this oil gives hydrogen disulfide separate from any other polysulfides (mostly trisulfide).
