Guy East

Guy East is a British film producer and sales agent, and the founder of Majestic Films International, InterMedia and Spitfire Pictures.

Career

East attended the University of Exeter as a student of English and law. In 1985, he became the British president of the American Film Marketing Association. Three years later, he started a venture called Majestic Films International, which handled the distribution of Dances with Wolves, Driving Miss Daisy and others. Also during the late 1980s, he worked with Goldcrest Films and Carolco.

East stayed at Majestic until 1995. In 1996, after selling Majestic, he teamed up with Nigel Sinclair as founder and co-chairman of InterMedia. The two men went on to form Spitfire Pictures in 2003 (well after InterMedia merged with Mortiz Bormann's Pacifica), and joined the staff of a revived Hammer Films in 2007. Both Spitfire and Hammer fused into a new entity, Exclusive Media Group, in 2008.

Guy East (born October 18, 1987) is a professional track cyclist from the United States. East has been competing as a professional on the international level since 2009, and competitively in the US since 2000. Guy has achieved success around the world throughout his career, winning races in five countries and playing a vital role in many winning team performances. A member of the United States National Team since 2006 and an exclusive member of Lance Armstrong’s LiveSTRONG, team, Guy has competed in nearly 30 countries on four continents. East currently resides near San Diego, CA. In addition to professional cycling East serves with More Than Sport in Tijuana, Mexico building homes for the poor.

In 2011 East retired from cycling to pursue other opportunities. East traveled Latin America extensively serving the poor and working with mission organizations. In 2012 East returned to professional track cycling and currently focuses on 6-day indoor cycle races. East has 14 professional 6-day starts in Amsterdam, Berlin, Rotterdam, Fiorenzuola, Grenoble and Copenhagen. In October 2013, Daniel Holloway and Guy East raced together as the California Team at the first half-Six Day race since the 1940s.
