Guru (Sanskrit: गुरु. IAST: guru) is a Sanskrit term that connotes someone who is a "teacher, guide or master" of certain knowledge. In pan-Indian traditions, guru is someone more than a teacher, traditionally a reverential figure to the student, with the guru serving as a "counselor, who helps mold values, shares experiential knowledge as much as literal knowledge, an exemplar in life, an inspirational source and who helps in the spiritual evolution of a student." The term also refers to someone who primarily is one's spiritual guide, who helps one to discover the same potentialities that the guru has already realized.
The oldest references to the concept of guru are found in the earliest Vedic texts of Hinduism. The guru, and gurukul – a school run by guru, were an established tradition in India by the 1st millennium BCE, and these helped compose and transmit the various Vedas, the Upanishads, texts of various schools of Hindu philosophy, and post-Vedic Shastras ranging from spiritual knowledge to various arts. By about mid 1st millennium CE, archaeological and epigraphical evidence suggest numerous larger institutions of gurus existed in India, some near Hindu temples, where guru-shishya tradition helped preserve, create and transmit various fields of knowledge. These gurus led broad ranges of studies including Hindu scriptures, Buddhist texts, grammar, philosophy, martial arts, music and painting.
Guru is the soundtrack to the 2007 film directed by Mani Ratnam. The soundtrack was released on 18 November 2006. Guru's music is composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics provided by Gulzar.
Like many of Rahman's soundtracks, Guru comes with a variety of songs. The songs vary in their musical style, from the Turkish inspired "Mayya Mayya" to the folk-ish "Ek Lo Ek Muft", the love ballad "Tere Bina" and rain-themed song, "Barso Re".
The song "Tere Bina" is dedicated to the memory of Pakistani qawwali singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan since it was the 10th anniversary of his death. Gulzar also adapted the lyrics of "Ay Hairathe" from the lyrics of Hazrat Amir Khushroo's "Ay Sarbathe Aashiqui". Rahman personally trained Egyptian singer Maryem Tollar to sing "Mayya", a song which Rahman wrote while on Hajj in Makkah. After he heard a man near a river who was continually repeating "maya maya maya" (water in Arabic), he told Gulzar to incorporate the word into the tune he had created while touring in Toronto, Canada.
This is a list of characters in the Sly Cooper video game series.
Bentley is a bespectacled box turtle, a trusted and loyal friend of Sly, and an expert in computer hacking, demolition, and other electronic devices. He met him and Murray in an orphanage. Bentley is quite well-read, often stating "I've read about this..." when deducing something new and alien to the team. Another of his catchphrases is "If I did my math right, and I always do my math right..." However, it is revealed in the second game that he has asthma; in the third game, he reveals to be allergic to tomatoes. Despite this, Bentley's intellect proves to be very valuable during missions. At the end of Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Bentley's legs are crippled by Neyla, and he begins to use a wheelchair starting in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. In the same game, he falls for another genius and fellow Cooper Gang member, Penelope, who would later betray him in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. For a while, Bentley is depressed and unable to help his friends. But he overcomes his turmoil and later saves Sly from Penelope, eventually defeating her in battle. At the final battle, Bentley brings all of Sly's ancestors to the present and helps them regain their canes. After Le Paradox is defeated and Sly goes missing, Bentley tries to use all of his technologies to find his friend, but to no avail. Nevertheless, he, Murray and Carmelita are determined to find Sly. It has also been shown in PlayStation Move Heroes that he has a slight mental rivalry with Clank.

ARC is a lossless data compression and archival format by System Enhancement Associates (SEA). It was very popular during the early days of networked dial-up BBS. The file format and the program were both called ARC. The ARC program made obsolete the previous use of a combination of the SQ program to compress files and the LU program to create .LBR archives, by combining both compression and archiving functions into a single program. Unlike ZIP, ARC is incapable of compressing entire directory trees. The format was subject to controversy in the 1980s—an important event in debates over what would later be known as open formats.
The .arc file extension is often used for several file archive-like file types. For example, the Internet Archive uses its own ARC format to store multiple web resources into a single file. The FreeArc archiver also uses .arc extension, but uses a completely different file format.
Nintendo uses an unrelated 'ARC' format for resources, such as MIDI, voice samples, or text, in GameCube and Wii games. Several unofficial extractors exist for this type of ARC file.
Ark (Russian: Ковчег, Kovcheg) is a fictional planet described in Space Mowgli (Малыш) by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. This planet is a part of the so-called Noon Universe and presents a barren world very similar to Earth in all aspects except the biosphere. The latter is unbelievably poor: for example, the oceans of the planet are empty (no fish, no algae, no mammals) although quite suitable for protein life.
This planet was chosen by progressors as a refuge and a new home for the population of Pant, a planet in danger of a global natural catastrophe. The name was given after the biblical Ark built by Noah. It was initially planned to gradually change the biosphere of Ark to make it more similar to the pantian one and then transfer all Pantians to their new home. Considering the low technological advancement level of Pantians, they should not have noticed anything at all. But this plan was canceled when the non-humanoid native civilization of Ark (Megaforms) was discovered.
when everyone agrees with you
you know you're wrong
when everyone embraces you
you don't belong
nothing these days
means what it says
everything's gone grey
takes a life to live to learn
where love comes from
only takes three little words
to know it's gone
nothing these days
means what it says
everything's gone grey
if you don't want to know the score
then just turn away
back to the world where papers burn
and words decay
nothing these days
means what it says
