Guo Liang (footballer)

Guo Liang (Chinese: 郭亮; pinyin: Guō Liàng; born 20 March 1985 in Dalian, Liaoning) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Qingdao Jonoon in the China League One.

Club career

Guo started his professional football career in 2002 when he was promoted to Dalian Shide's first squad. He played as a substitute player for Adilson and made just 13 league appearances for Dalian between 2002 and 2005. He was loaned to China League One side Guangzhou Pharmaceutical in 2006. Guo transferred to another League One club Harbin Yiteng in December 2006 and left in June 2007. He moved to Chinese Super League club Qingdao Jonoon in January 2008.

Guo Liang (born 11 November 1968) is a China-born Singaporean actor and television host.

Career

Guo graduated from the Shanghai Drama Institute and moved to Singapore during the 1990s to join the Television Corporation of Singapore (predecessor of MediaCorp). He joined SPH MediaWorks in late 2000 but returned to MediaCorp in 2005 when the two companies merged. Although trained as an actor, he is mostly known in Singapore for his professional hosting in the annual Star Awards

Personal life

Guo is married to a Singapore permanent resident and has a son. He took up Singaporean citizenship in 2001.

In 2010, Guo and Elvin Ng were reportedly engaged in an online feud over comments exchanged in the dressing room during filming of the series. The incident was notably parodied in a skit at the Star Awards 2011 in which Christopher Lee, portraying series director Chong Liung Man, tells their characters to "stop fighting" and "write on [their] blogs".
