AMD Phenom

Phenom /fᵻˈnɒm/ is the 64-bit AMD desktop processor line based on the K10 microarchitecture, in what AMD calls family 10h (10 hex, i.e. 16 in normal decimal numbers) processors, sometimes incorrectly called "K10h". Triple-core versions (codenamed Toliman) belong to the Phenom 8000 series and quad cores (codenamed Agena) to the AMD Phenom X4 9000 series. The first processor in the family was released in 2007.

Background

AMD considers the quad core Phenoms to be the first "true" quad core design, as these processors are a monolithic multi-core design (all cores on the same silicon die), unlike Intel's Core 2 Quad series which are a multi-chip module (MCM) design. The processors are on the Socket AM2+ platform.

Before Phenom's original release a flaw was discovered in the translation lookaside buffer (TLB) that could cause a system lock-up in rare circumstances; Phenom processors up to and including stepping "B2" and "BA" are affected by this bug. BIOS and software workarounds disable the TLB, and typically incur a performance penalty of at least 10%. This penalty was not accounted for in pre-release previews of Phenom, hence the performance of early Phenoms delivered to customers is expected to be less than the preview benchmarks. "B3" stepping Phenom processors were released March 27, 2008 without the TLB bug and with "xx50" model numbers.

"Phenom" is a song by American rapper Xzibit. The song was produced by Risingson, it features Kurupt and 40 Glocc. It was released May 25 in iTunes. The music video was released the same day as the single and features cameos from Young De, Scoop DeVille and Xzibit's brother Jason. The video was directed by Matt Alonzo.

Season (society)

The social season, or Season, has historically referred to the annual period when it is customary for members of a social elite of society to hold debutante balls, dinner parties and large charity events. It was also the appropriate time to be resident in the city rather than in the country, in order to attend such events.

The Season in London

The London social season evolved in the 17th and 18th centuries, and in its traditional form it peaked in the 19th century. In this era the British elite was dominated by landowning aristocratic and gentry families who generally regarded their country house as their main home, but spent several months of the year in the capital to socialise and to engage in politics. The most exclusive events were held at the town mansions of leading members of the aristocracy. Exclusive public venues such as Almack's played a secondary role. The Season coincided with the sitting of Parliament and began some time after Christmas and ran until midsummer, roughly late June.

Grind is a board game by Privateer Press. It is the first of their board games to be based on Warmachine. It is a steam-punk game where the players control teams of 5 machines called warjacks and pit them against each other to force a huge spiked ball called the grinder into their opponents goal pit.

The box contains 10 warjacks, 5 red and 5 blue, each team has 2 heavy warjacks (crushers) and 3 light warjacks (runners), it also contains a full-size board, 24 specialty dice, 12 tokens, 2 pillars and the grinder

Gameplay is fast-paced and tactical, with the player moving their warjacks, attacking other warjacks and the grinder, and blocking other warjacks while trying to keep the other team from getting near their goal zone.

There are no numbered dice (d6) used in the game because the whole system works around strikes, there are 3 different types of dice, white action dice, blue boost dice and red power dice, the power dice have the highest chance of hitting, while action dice have the lowest. All of the dice have a 1-in-6 chance of rolling a super strike which is worth 2 strikes.
