Buy More

Buy More is a fictional big-box electronics retail chain in NBC's action-comedy series Chuck. The Buy More is a parody of similar chains, particularly Best Buy.

The notable employees of the Buy More fit into three categories: management, Nerd Herd (technical support), and sales associates (who are called "Green Shirts" on account of their uniforms). Current and recent notable employees are listed by their last held position.

Series

The series' eponymous character Chuck Bartowski, and most of the principal characters, are employed at the Burbank branch of the Buy More for most of the entire series. The store is located at 9000 Burbank Boulevard. Every episode touches on the store at some point, whether for a substantial comedic side plot or as the scene of some of the series' spy action, particularly in the first two seasons. The Burbank Buy More is involved in a fierce rivalry with the nearby Beverly Hills location, often involving vicious pranks between the stores, as highlighted in "Chuck Versus the Predator". Neighboring "big box" stores in the shopping center are Large Mart and Underpants Etc. The employees of Buy More and Large Mart have a fragile truce concerning pranks and sabotage of each other's store. Restaurants across the parking lot include Wienerlicious, a fast-food retailer specializing in hot dogs and sausages, in season 1; Orange Orange, a frozen yogurt store, in seasons 2 and 3; and a Bennigan's.Sarah Walker maintains a cover as an employee of the Wienerlicious and, subsequently, the Orange Orange. The Orange Orange – like the Buy More – is a façade for, and secret entrance to, the underground Castle base.

According to Greta (also known as "Surviving Summer") is a 2009 American independent drama film directed by Nancy Bardawil.

Plot

Greta (Hilary Duff) is seventeen, a bright and beautiful young woman. However, she is also rebellious as a consequence of her turbulent home life. Pushed aside by her mother, Karen (Melissa Leo), who is on her third marriage, Greta is shipped off to her grandparents for the summer. She is not happy about it and neither are her grandparents. She tells them that she fully intends to kill herself before the summer is over and compiles a notebook of suicide methods.

Greta's sarcastic attitude results in her being offered a job as a waitress at a local seafood restaurant. While working there, her odd sense of humour makes her attractive to many customers. Greta falls for a charismatic short-order cook named Julie (Evan Ross). When he reveals to her that he was once incarcerated in a juvenile correctional facility for stealing cars, Greta is even more attracted to him. Julie tells her that his experience made him determined to do something positive with his life and he attempts to convince Greta to not give up on hers. He is alarmed when he sees Greta's 'suicide list.'

Otocinclus

Otocinclus is a genus of armored catfish native to South America which are commonly called "dwarf suckers" or "otos".

Etymology

The Otocinclus name is derived from the Greek oto, ear, and the Latin cinclus, meaning a latticework, an allusion to the holes in the head in the region of the ear.

Taxonomy

Otocinclus is the most basal genus of the tribe Hypoptopomatini of the subfamily Hypoptopomatinae. However, phylogenetic relationships are currently under study and this genus may eventually be relocated. Its monophyly is supported by seven derived features. O cocama, O. huaorani, O. bororo, O. mariae, and O. mura, and O. batmani form a monophyletic group within this genus. A monophyletic group is also formed by O. flexilis, O. xakriaba, and O. mimulus, which all share mimicry as a synapomorphy.

Otoe tribe

The Otoe are a Midwestern Native American tribe. The Otoe language, Chiwere, is part of the Siouan family and closely related to that of the related Iowa and Missouri tribes.

Historically, the Otoe lived as a semi-nomadic people on the Central Plains along the Missouri River in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri . They lived in elm-bark lodges while they farmed, and used tipis while traveling, like many other Plains tribes. They often left their villages to hunt buffalo.

In the early 19th century, many of their villages were destroyed due to warfare with other tribes. European-American enroachment and disease also played a role in their decline. Today, they are federally recognized as the Otoe tribes of Oklahoma, and share a reservation with the Sac and Fox people .

History

The Otoe were once part of the Siouan tribes of the Great Lakes region, a group commonly known as the Winnebago. At some this horse culture and semi-nomadic lifestyle of the Great Plains, making the American bison central to their diet and culture.
