Dadı

Dadi is a Turkish remake of The Nanny, one of the most successful sitcoms in the US in the 90's. The program is set in Istanbul.

It is broadcast to countries outside Turkey such as Australia, where it is shown on SBS.

Plot

Melek Özbal (Gülben Ergen)[Fran Fine], fresh out of her job as a bridal consultant in her boyfriend's shop is working as a door-to-door cosmetics saleswoman when she stumbles onto the opportunity to become the nanny to the children of a wealthy media tycoon, Ömer Giritli (Kenan Isik)[Maxwell Shefield]. Once Melek realizes Giritli is not only wealthy but also a widower, she eagerly takes the job.

It's a situation of blue-collar meets blue blood, as Melek gives the prim-and-proper and his problem children a dose of "street-smart logic," helping them become a healthy, happy family. Melek discovers she's got a lot of work to do with the three Giritli youngsters. Dilara (Sinem Kobal) is a pretty, yet insecure teenager in need of a boost in self-esteem. Convinced he doesn't need a nanny, Tolga (Yasar Abravaya) is a master at mischievous pranks and tormenting his sisters. Eight-year-old Duygu (Gökçe Uzuner) is a serious child who dotes on her daily sessions with her therapist. Proudly running the Giritli household is the butler Pertev (Haldun Dormen), who watches all events with a bemused eye and levels problems with his quick wit. Pertev quickly recognizes Melek's gift at bringing warmth back to the family. Suzan (Seray Sever), Ömer's socialite business associate, views Melek with a mixture of skepticism and jealousy, as she has designs on the very available Giritli herself.

Father

A father is the male parent of a child. Besides the paternal bonds of a father to his children, the father has a parental social and legal relationship with the child that carries with it certain rights and obligations, although this varies between jurisdictions. An adoptive father is a male who has become the child's parent through the legal process of adoption. A biological father is the male genetic contributor to the creation of the baby, through sexual intercourse or sperm donation. A biological father may have legal obligations to a child not raised by him, such as an obligation of monetary support. Biological fathers determine the sex of their child through a sperm cell which either contains an X chromosome (female), or Y chromosome (male). Greatest (The Go-Go's album)

Greatest is a 1990 compilation album by the rock group The Go-Go's from California, United States. The record, which represents the first best-of album by the Go-Go's, includes most of the hits and stand-out tracks from the band's first three studio albums, 1981 Beauty and the Beat, 1982 Vacation, and 1984 Talk Show, only omitting two minor hit singles, "He's So Strange" and "Yes or No".

The collection does not include any new songs, except for a re-recording of the 1960s cover version of "Cool Jerk" (the 'original' version of the cover was already on the Go-Go's second album, Vacation), which was also released as the one single from the compilation, reaching #60 in the UK Singles Chart, in 1991, this way becoming the second Go-Go's song to ever enter the British charts (the third and highest UK hit from the band would eventually be "The Whole World Lost Its Head", peaking at #29, from their second Greatest Hits album, 1994 Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's).

Background and release

Greatest was an update of the 1989 tenth anniversary compilation album, Decade: Greatest Hits. The new release included songs from their eponymous debut album through 1997's Medazzaland. The album includes all 14 songs featured in Decade: Greatest Hits, plus "New Moon on Monday" and four singles from the '90s, however both "Save a Prayer" and "Rio" are presented in their shorter US versions in order to fit on a single CD whereas they appeared in their full versions on the former compilation. For some unknown reason, "Perfect Day" (from 1995 album, Thank You) wasn't added to the album. "My Own Way" and "Careless Memories" were originally going to be in the album but due to the favor of the later singles. ("Serious" and "Eletric Barbarella")

The album was released by EMI after parting ways with the band after the disastrous Medazzaland album release in 1997, and marked the first of many releases designed to capitalise on the band's extensive EMI-controlled back catalogue.
