Jamal Woolard

Jamal "Gravy" Woolard (born July 8, 1975), is an American actor, rapper, and comedian. He is best known for portraying The Notorious B.I.G. in Notorious.

Woolard, like Christopher Wallace, is from Brooklyn, specifically L.G., Lafayette Gardens. In real life he raps under the name "Gravy". He is featured in the song "Untouchable" by Tupac Shakur on the Pac's Life album. He had to add over 50 pounds to his already large frame to play The Notorious B.I.G. in the film Notorious.

Woolard was previously known for being shot near radio station Hot 97 in 2006 and giving an interview on the Funkmaster Flex show directly afterwards. His music was later banned from play at the station as a result of a policy that bans "music by any artist who is involved in an altercation at the station."

Recently, Woolard has been considering getting back into the film industry after taking time off to spend with his daughter. Sources say he has been linked with the newly formed Diamantaire Management Inc., who also has unreleased Alex "Chae" Muniz, Marc Anthony's son, as a signed client.

Gravy

Gravy is a sauce, made often from the juices that run naturally during cooking and often thickened with wheat flour or cornstarch for added texture. In North America the term can refer to a wider variety of sauces. The gravy may be further colored and flavored with gravy salt (a simple mix of salt and caramel food colouring) or gravy browning (gravy salt dissolved in water) or ready-made cubes and powders can be used as a substitute for natural meat or vegetable extracts. Canned gravies are also available. Gravy is commonly served with roasts, meatloaf, rice, and mashed potatoes.

Gravy (entertainer)

Gravy, (born Labon Kenneth Blackburn Leeweltine Buckonon Benjamin in 1955) is a former entertainer, famous throughout the cricket world, for 12 years of voluntary entertaining of the crowd through a variety of antics at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St John's, Antigua.

Performances

For 12 years from 1988, Gravy entertained the crowd with a variety of costumes and performances in (and sometimes above) the crowd at the stadium: "Gravy is a performer. He cross-dresses and dances and writhes and swings from the rafters and puts on a show that you will not ever forget."

His act began by chance: "It started to rain during the presentation ceremony, and the podium was left open. "Something told me, Gravy, this is your time. I went down on the podium, in the rain, and started dancing. Everybody was excited about it. They loved it."" He was unpaid for his activities. When he retired in 2000, he did so while wearing a white wedding dress. Since retirement, he runs a hardware stall in St John's.

Gravy (film)

Gravy is a 2015 American comedy horror film, directed by James Roday and co-written by Roday and Todd Harthan. It stars Sutton Foster, Lily Cole, Gabriel Luna, Gabourey Sidibe, Lothaire Bluteau, James Roday, Paul Rodriguez, Michael Weston, Molly Ephraim, and Sarah Silverman. The film was released in the United States on October 2, 2015 by Scream Factory.

Plot

It's All Hallow's Eve. A trio of costumed misfits with very special dietary requirements seizes a Mexican cantina and forces the staff to engage in a late night of gaming, food and libations. The only caveat is what's on the menu.

Production

On April 5, 2013, it was reported that actor James Roday would be making his film directorial debut with the dark comedy Gravy. The film started production that same day in Los Angeles, California, with a cast including Sarah Silverman, Michael Weston, Jimmi Simpson, Sutton Foster, Lily Cole, Gabourey Sidibe, Paul Rodriguez, Molly Ephraim, Lothaire Bluteau, Gabriel Luna, and Ethan Sandler.
