Tampa /ˈtæmpə/ is a city in and the county seat of Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is located on the west coast of Florida on Tampa Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico, and is part of the Tampa Bay Metropolitan Area. The city had a population of 346,037 in 2011.
The current location of Tampa was once inhabited by indigenous peoples of the Safety Harbor culture most notably the Tocobaga and the Pohoy, who lived along the shores of Tampa Bay. The area was explored by Spanish explorers in the 16th century, resulting in violent conflicts and the introduction of European diseases, which wiped out the original native cultures. Although Spain claimed Florida as part of New Spain, it did not found a colony in the Tampa area, and there were no permanent American or European settlements within today's city limits until after the United States acquired Florida from Spain in 1819.
In 1824, the United States Army established a frontier outpost called Fort Brooke at the mouth of the Hillsborough River, near the site of today's Tampa Convention Center. The first civilian residents were pioneers who settled near the fort for protection from the nearby Seminole population, and the small village was first incorporated as "Tampa" in 1849. The town grew slowly until the 1880s, when railroad links, the discovery of phosphate, and the arrival of the cigar industry jump-started its development, helping it to grow from a quiet village of less than 800 residents in 1880 to a bustling city of over 30,000 by the early 1900s.
8/12/00 – Tampa, Florida is a two-disc live album and the thirty-second in a series of 72 live bootlegs released by the American alternative rock band Pearl Jam from the band's 2000 Binaural Tour. It was released along with the other official bootlegs from the first North American leg of the tour on February 27, 2001.
The album was recorded on August 12, 2000 in Tampa, Florida at the Ice Palace. It was selected by the band as one of 18 "Ape/Man" shows from the tour, which, according to bassist Jeff Ament, were shows the band found "really exciting."Allmusic gave it two out of a possible five stars. Allmusic staff writer Zac Johnson said, "While the quality of the show is better than any 'real' bootleg out there, in comparison with some of the other live shows in this series it's lacking." It debuted at number 181 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The song "Last Exit" was played after "Grievance", but the tape machines malfunctioned and the song was lost. A masterboard tape version of the song was added to the end of the album. "Evacuation" from this show appears on the Touring Band 2000 DVD.
Grant Park may refer to:
Grant Park is a large urban park (319 acres or 1.29 km²) in the Loop community area of Chicago. Located in Chicago's central business district, the park's most notable features are Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum Campus. Originally known as Lake Park, and dating from the city's founding, it was renamed in 1901 to honor Ulysses S. Grant. The park's area has been expanded several times through land reclamation, and was the focus of several disputes in the late 19th century and early 20th century over open space use. It is bordered on the north by Randolph Street, on the south by Roosevelt Road and McFetridge Drive, on the west by Michigan Avenue and on the east by Lake Michigan. The park contains performance venues, gardens, art work, sporting, and harbor facilities. It hosts public gatherings, and several large annual events.
The park is often called "Chicago's front yard". It is governed by the Chicago Park District.
Grant Park is a neighbourhood in Winnipeg's south end. Its general boundaries are Pembina Hwy. to the east. Corydon Ave. to the north. Taylor Ave. to the south, and Cambridge St. to the west.
Prior to the mid-1950s the Canadian National Railway owned railway track adjacent to Woodward Ave. When the ground sank, the builders had to refix it with cement, rocks and gravel. This was between Pembina Hwy. and Cambridge St. This track was later declared surplus and sold to the City. The tracks were removed, the ground was redone, the street expanded to include a service road and renamed Grant Ave.
In the late 1960s, the Grant Park Shopping Centre complex was built. It originally featured a Woolco, Gambles, Safeway, and Dominion stores.
Pan Am Pool was built so that Winnipeg could host the 1967 Pan American Games. Until 2006 it was home to the Canadian Aquatic Hall of Fame.
Around the same time the shopping centre, and PanAm Pool were being constructed, various mid-rise and hi-rise apartment buildings were being built.

Go and take a ride to a shop in Grant Park
You can walk through the door and shove the knife in her heart
When you tell her that you can't stand the song anymore
The one you two adopted on the prom dance floor
You can be a Tom Cruise and make a big scene
Or be like MacGyver and cut it clean
Either way there's gonna be blood on the floor
When you tell her that you don't dig girls anymore
Anymore
Anymore, anymore
Here's a funny story about a singer named Jed
Yeah he caught his girlfriend with a woman in bed
And, they were watching love line with a bottle of wine
Having a party like it's 1999
So he threw down the movies and he had a heart attack
He jumped in the ocean, he never swam back
They just stood there naked except for their socks
Feeling cheaper than the prize in a cracker jack box
I don't think Jed's really gonna wanna rock anymore
Anymore, anymore
(I can't believe it, I can't believe it)
Anymore, anymore
Anymore, anymore
(I can't believe it, I can't believe it)
Check the exposure, something's wrong with this picture
I can't see the truth through all of the dirty lines
Check the exposure something's wrong with this picture
All in all your gonna lose your mind
There's a little story that you're gonna adore
It's kinda like the lost scene on the cutting room floor
It's all fun and games 'til you get a black eye
You're down in the sewer asking all the rats why
You can live in love and lie and cheat if you wish, but you know
That's about as tacky as a satellite dish
On a hot pink house with a burgundy door
With cigarette butts all over the floor
I don't think my stomach's gonna take anymore
Anymore, anymore
(I can't believe it, I can't believe it)
Anymore, anymore
Anymore, anymore
(I can't believe it, I can't believe it)
