Graham Line

The Graham Line (also known as the Guymard Cutoff) is the portion of the former Erie Railroad in New York State from Highland Mills (at about 41°20′35″N 74°07′12″W / 41.343°N 74.120°W / 41.343; -74.120) to Guymard (at about 41°25′44″N 74°35′42″W / 41.429°N 74.595°W / 41.429; -74.595), built in 1904–1908 as a low-grade freight line. The Graham Line bypasses the original Erie Main Line through Monroe, Chester, Goshen and Middletown. Grade on the Graham Line was not to exceed 0.2% eastward or 0.6% westward, while the original Main Line built in the 1840s had grades up to 1.25%. There were three places where freight trains needed a helper on the old line and none on the new, but just west of the cutoff the grade up from Port Jervis to Guymard could not be improved and remained unchanged as the only place in the area needing a helper. The sharpest curve on the old line was 7 degrees and on the new was 1 deg 30 min. The Graham Line has no grade crossings, a rarity on the Erie. The downside of the improved grade and curvature is that the Graham Line is seven miles longer. Maintaining the desired grade required two notable engineering features, the Moodna Viaduct and the Otisville Tunnel.

Floor plan

In architecture and building engineering, a floor plan is a drawing to scale, showing a view from above, of the relationships between rooms, spaces and other physical features at one level of a structure.

Dimensions are usually drawn between the walls to specify room sizes and wall lengths. Floor plans may also include details of fixtures like sinks, water heaters, furnaces, etc. Floor plans may include notes for construction to specify finishes, construction methods, or symbols for electrical items.

It is also called a plan which is a measured plane typically projected at the floor height of 4 ft (1.2 m), as opposed to an elevation which is a measured plane projected from the side of a building, along its height, or a section or cross section where a building, is cut along an axis to reveal the interior structure.

Overview

Similar to a map the orientation of the view is downward from above, but unlike a conventional map, a plan is drawn at a particular vertical position (commonly at about 4 feet above the floor). Objects below this level are seen, objects at this level are shown 'cut' in plan-section, and objects above this vertical position within the structure are omitted or shown dashed. Plan view or planform is defined as a vertical orthographic projection of an object on a horizontal plane, like a map.

Line (poetry)

A line is a unit of language into which a poem or play is divided, which operates on principles which are distinct from and not necessarily coincident with grammatical structures, such as the sentence or clauses in sentences. Although the word for a single poetic line is verse, that term now tends to be used to signify poetic form more generally.

A distinct numbered group of lines in verse is normally called a stanza.

General conventions in Western poetry

A conventions that determine what might constitute line in poetry depend upon different constraints, aural characteristics or scripting conventions for any given language. On the whole, where relevant, a line is generally determined either by units of rhythm or repeating aural patterns in recitation that can also be marked by other features such as rhyme or alliteration, or by patterns of syllable-count.

In Western literary traditions, use of line is arguably the principal feature which distinguishes poetry from prose. Even in poems where formal metre or rhyme is weakly observed or absent, the convention of line continues on the whole to be observed, at least in written representations, although there are exceptions (see Degrees of license). In such writing, simple visual appearance on a page (or any other written layout) remains sufficient to determine poetic line, and this sometimes leads to a "charge" that the work in question is no longer a poem but "chopped up prose". A dropped line is a line broken into two parts, with the second indented to remain visually sequential.

915 line

Titleist 915 Drivers

The 915 line is a line of new drivers, made by Titleist, set to release November 14, 2014 for the general public. The line comes in two models and introduces some new changes to the previous 913 design. In addition to being able to tweak the driver head, Titleist also pairs with Diamana and Aldila shafts, which provide many options for further customization.

Design

Titleist releases a new line of driver every other year, the last line being the 913 set. Much like the previous 913 line, the D2 comes in a 460 cubic centimeter head and the D3 comes in a 440 cc head. The clubs still have the same visual look from above as its older models, but went through some radical changes regarding the bottom of the club over the last two years. This is mainly in regards to the “Active Recoil Channel” that was added just behind the face of the club. The face of the club also went through some small changes.

Active Recoil Channel

The Active Recoil Channel (ARC) is a fairly long, deep channel that runs along the bottom of the head right behind the face. The idea behind the design is that when the ball impacts with the face, the channel will "actively" flex and compress which will lead to lower spin off the face and higher ball speed. Clubs that don't have the channel tend to be more rigid and produce excess spin while losing ball speed.

Clan Graham

Clan Graham (Clann Greumach) is a Scottish clan who had territories in both the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands.

History

Origins of the clan

There is a tradition that the first Graham was one Greme who broke the Roman Antonine Wall driving the Roman legions out of Scotland. However the likely origin is that the chiefs of Clan Graham were of Anglo-Norman origin. The Manor of Gregham is recorded in William the Conqueror's Domesday Book. When David I claimed the throne of Scotland, Graham was one of the knights who accompanied him.Sir William de Graham was present at the erection of Holyrood Abbey, witnessing its foundation charter.

The first lands that the chiefs of Clan Graham appear to have held were around Dalkeith in Midlothian. Sir Nicholas de Graham attended the Parliament of 1290 where the Treaty of Birgham was signed.

Wars of Scottish Independence

The Clan Graham fought at the Battle of Dunbar in 1296 where Sir Patrick Graham of Kincardine was the only man of all the Scots not to retreat and instead fought to the death.

Graham, Washington

Graham is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 8,739 at the 2000 census and grew to 23,491 at the 2010 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 21.4 square miles (55.5 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 8,739 people, 2,989 households, and 2,427 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 407.9 people per square mile (157.5/km²). There were 3,120 housing units at an average density of 145.6/sq mi (56.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 90.15% White, 1.28% African American, 1.28% Native American, 1.80% Asian, 0.50% Pacific Islander, 0.98% from other races, and 4.01% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.81% of the population.

There were 2,989 households out of which 42.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.8% were non-families. 14.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.20.

Graham (Myanmar)

Graham (Burmese: ဂရေဟမ်, Burmese pronunciation: [gəjèhàɴ]) is a Myanmar singer. He is best known for his pop songs, as well as duets with female artists and TV commercial songs and Original Soundtracks. He was the first male artist to have won Best Male Recording Artist Of The Year Award given by Yangon City FM.

Early life

Graham was born to San Nyunt and Thein Tin in Taunggyi, Shan State, where he lived till he graduated from his secondary college. His father was a Chief Immigration Officer and his mother was a school teacher. After finishing his secondary studies, Graham came to Yangon in 1991 to attend the University of Yangon. He came to Yangon with the determination and hope of starting a professional career in music, since then capital city provided many more opportunities. He graduated with Bachelor of Law. Close friends of Graham calls him by his nickname Pu Sue (Burmese: ပူစူး).

Graham married Thinzar Oo, whom he met during his college years, in 1993. She gave birth to their first daughter Pan Yaung Chel in 1996 and their second daughter Pan Thun Chel in 2001.
