Grade 2 (band)

Grade 2 is an English band from Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Their music is described as a classic punk sound, which tends towards an Oi! style, and feature lyrics about everyday problems.

History

The band was formed in May 2013, initially playing covers from the punk era by The Stranglers and The Jam, as well as Oi! music by Booze and Glory and Lion’s Law. They began to write original songs and performed regularly in local pubs and clubs, and gained exposure by successfully supporting established bands.

In November 2013 the band was signed to German record label Contra Records.

Since 2013 the band have played regularly across Europe with performances in countries including Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, the UK and the Isle of Man.

Discography

Early demos were recorded in October 2013, and their debut EP of original music, "Broken Youth", was released on Contra Records in June 2014, followed by a 7" 4-track split with Saints and Sinners in June 2015 titled "Die With Our Boots On".

Para-equestrian

Para-equestrian is an equestrian sport governed by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), and includes two competitive events: One is para-equestrian dressage, which is conducted under the same basic rules as conventional dressage, but with riders divided into different competition grades based on their functional abilities. The other is para-equestrian driving, which operates under the same basic rules as combined driving but places competitors in various grades based on their functional abilities. The Paralympic games host a para-equestrian dressage competition, and have done so since 1996, but like the Summer Olympics, they do not yet offer driving.

History

The first official Paralympic Games was held in Rome in 1960. The Games were initially open only to athletes in wheelchairs; at the 1976 Summer Games, athletes with different disabilities were included for the first time at a Summer Paralympics. Competitors with cerebral palsy classifications were allowed to compete at the Paralympic games for the first time at the 1984 Summer Paralympics. At the 1992 Summer Paralympics, all disability types were eligible to participate, with classification being run through the International Paralympic Committee, with classification being done based on functional disability type.

Listed building

A listed building, in the United Kingdom, is one that has been placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.

The statutory bodies maintaining the list are Historic England in England; Cadw (The Historic Environment Service of the Welsh Government) in Wales; Historic Scotland in Scotland; and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) in Northern Ireland.

The term has also been used in the Republic of Ireland, where buildings are surveyed for the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage in accordance with the country's obligations under the Granada Convention. However, the preferred term in Ireland is protected structure.

A listed building may not be demolished, extended, or altered without special permission from the local planning authority, which typically consults the relevant central government agency, particularly for significant alterations to the more notable listed buildings. Exemption from secular listed building control is provided for some buildings in current use for worship, but only in cases where the relevant religious organisation operates its own equivalent permissions procedure. Owners of listed buildings are, in some circumstances, compelled to repair and maintain them and can face criminal prosecution if they fail to do so or if they perform unauthorised alterations. The listing procedure allows for buildings to be removed from the list if the listing is shown to be in error.
