Grace (prayer)

A grace is a short prayer or thankful phrase said before or after eating. The term most commonly refers to Christian traditions. Some traditions hold that grace and thanksgiving imparts a blessing which sanctifies the meal. In English, reciting such a prayer is sometimes referred to as "saying grace".

A prayer of Grace is said by the head of the house although an honored guest may be asked to say Grace by prior arrangement. Under no circumstances should someone spontaneously say Grace, especially a guest, as it would be considered disrespectful. This is similar to the etiquette of a dinner party toast, in which the host is expected to give the toast. The prayer of Grace is often said to be an act of offering thanks to God for granting humans dominion over the earth, and the right and ability to sacrifice the lives of divine creations for sustenance; this thanks is the "saying of Grace" prior to eating of every meal.

American tradition of Thanksgiving

In some American Christian families, either the head of the household or an honored guest (only if asked by prior arrangement) often recites or improvises a special grace on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, while the others observe a moment of silence. Grace (Australian singer)

Grace Sewell (known simply as Grace and born in 1998) is an Australian singer and songwriter. She is best known for "You Don't Own Me", a cover version of the 1963 Lesley Gore song "You Don't Own Me", produced by Quincy Jones and featuring G-Eazy. The song, a single from her debut album with Regime Music Societe and RCA Records, was a Spotify "top 10 most viral track" and a number-one hit in Australia.

Grace is from Brisbane, Australia and attended All Hallows' School and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, Sunnybank. She grew up listening to musical artists such as Smokey Robinson, Janis Joplin, Shirley Bassey, and Amy Winehouse. Grace comes from a family of musicians. Her grandparents toured with the Bee Gees and the Gibb Brothers. Her brother Conrad Sewell is also a singer, best known for featuring on Kygo's song "Firestone" and for his solo hit "Start Again". When "Start Again" hit number one on the ARIA Charts in June 2015, Conrad and Grace became the first Australian born siblings in the history of the charts to hit number one as separate acts.

Grace (Skins)

Grace is the seventh and penultimate episode of series 5 of the UK TV series Skins, which first aired on the 3 March 2011 on E4. It focuses on Grace's (Jessica Sula) effort to get a good mark in her AS Drama by directing a production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in order to be allowed by her father, David Blood, to stay at Roundview College.

Synopsis

Rich and Grace wake up after having sex, and Grace realises, to her horror, that they are at her house, which she has always tried to avoid. It turns out that her father is David Blood, the Roundview College headmaster. She attempts to smuggle Rich out without her father noticing, and nearly succeeds. However, he is discovered in the garden after being attacked by their dog. Grace is forced to acknowledge him as her boyfriend.

Christian prayer

Prayer is an important activity in Christianity, and there are several different forms of Christian prayer.

Christian prayers are diverse: they can be completely spontaneous, or read entirely from a text, like the Anglican Book of Common Prayer. The most common prayer among Christians is the "Lord's Prayer", which according to the gospel accounts (e.g. Matthew 6:9-13) is how Jesus taught his disciples to pray. "The Lord's Prayer" is a model for prayers of adoration, confession and petition in Christianity.

A broad, three stage characterization of prayer begins with vocal prayer, then moves on to a more structured form in terms of meditation, then reaches the multiple layers of contemplation, or intercession.

There are two basic settings for Christian prayer: corporate (or public) and private. Corporate prayer includes prayer shared within the worship setting or other public places. These prayers can be formal written prayers or informal extemporaneous prayers. Private prayer occurs with the individual praying either silently or aloud within a private setting. Coppélia

Coppélia is a comic ballet originally choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon to the music of Léo Delibes, with libretto by Charles-Louis-Étienne Nuitter. Nuitter's libretto and mise-en-scène was based upon two stories by E. T. A. Hoffmann: Der Sandmann (The Sandman) and Die Puppe (The Doll). In Greek, κοπελιά means girl, young lady. Coppélia premiered on 25 May 1870 at the Théâtre Impérial l'Opéra, with the 16-year-old Giuseppina Bozzacchi in the principal role of Swanhilde. Its first flush of success was interrupted by the Franco-Prussian War and the Siege of Paris (which also led to the early death of Giuseppina Bozzacchi, on her 17th birthday), but eventually it became the most-performed ballet at the Opéra.

Modern-day productions are traditionally derived from the revivals staged by Marius Petipa for the Imperial Ballet of St. Petersburg in the late 19th century. RuneScape is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Jagex, released originally in January 2001. RuneScape is a graphical browser game implemented on the client-side in Java, and incorporates 3D rendering. The game has had over 200 million accounts created and is recognised by the Guinness World Records as the world's largest free MMORPG and the most-updated game.

RuneScape takes place in the world of Gielinor, a medieval fantasy realm divided into different kingdoms, regions, and cities. Players can travel throughout Gielinor via a number of methods including on foot, magical spells, or charter ships. Each region offers different types of monsters, resources, and quests to challenge players. The game's fictional universe has also been explored through a tie-in video game on another of its maker's websites, FunOrb, Armies of Gielinor, and the novels Betrayal at Falador,Return to Canifis, and Legacy of Blood.

Players are represented in the game with customisable avatars. RuneScape does not follow a linear storyline; rather, players set their own goals and objectives. Players can choose to fight non-player character (NPC) monsters, complete quests, or increase their experience in the available skills. Players interact with each other through trading, chatting, or by participating in mini-games and activities, some of which are competitive or combative in nature, while others require cooperative or collaborative play.
