Gourmet (US: /ɡɔːrˈmeɪ/, UK: /ˈɡɔːmeɪ/) is a cultural ideal associated with the culinary arts of fine food and drink, or haute cuisine, which is characterised by refined, even elaborate preparations and presentations of aesthetically balanced meals of several contrasting, often quite rich courses. The term and its associated practices are usually used positively to describe people of refined taste and passion.
The term gourmet can refer to a person with refined or discriminating taste who is knowledgeable in the craft and art of food and food preparation.Gourmand carries additional connotations of one who simply enjoys food in great quantities. An epicure is similar to a gourmet, but the word may sometimes carry overtones of excessive refinement. A gourmet chef is a chef of particularly high caliber of cooking talent and skill.

Gourmet magazine was a monthly publication of Condé Nast and the first U.S. magazine devoted to food and wine. Founded by Earle R. MacAusland (1890–1980), Gourmet, first published in January 1941, also covered "good living" on a wider scale.
On October 5, 2009 Condé Nast announced that Gourmet would cease monthly publication by the end of 2009, due to a decline in advertising sales and shifting food interests among the readership. Editor Ruth Reichl, in the middle of a tour promoting the Gourmet Today cookbook, confirmed that the magazine's November 2009 issue, distributed in mid-October, was the magazine's last.
The Gourmet brand continues to be used by Condé Nast for book and television programming and recipes appearing on Epicurious.com. Scuderia Milano was an Italian motor racing team run by the Ruggeri (or Ruggieri) brothers that raced Maseratis in the early post-war period. They participated in a single Formula One Grand Prix as a constructor in 1950. The team scored two World Championship points, with a best finish (in its debut race) of fifth for Felice Bonetto at the 1950 Swiss Grand Prix.
Scuderia Milano modified two Maserati 4CLT single-seaters with a shorter wheelbase, De Dion suspensions, larger brakes and an engine redesigned by Mario Speluzzi, refitted with two-stage superchargers, racing them in the 1950 and 1951 F1 seasons.
