Good Day! (TV series)

Good Day! (originally known as Good Morning!, and alternately known in later years as Good Day! Live) is an American TV series which aired from September 24, 1973 until October 11, 1991. Produced by WCVB-TV in Boston, Good Day! aired on that local ABC affiliate for its entire 18 years of production, airing in various timeslots (which changed throughout the years) between 9 and 11 a.m. on WCVB's morning schedule. The show was later syndicated to 71 American television markets, increasing its notoriety outside of its primary New England viewer base.

Good Day! is credited for being the prototype for ABC's Good Morning America, as its format, which combined news and information with talk and lifestyle features, was adopted by the subsequent ABC morning show, and eventually by its competitors on CBS, NBC, and on other networks.

The program has no relation to the current group of local morning shows produced by the Fox owned-and-operated television stations, all of which use the Good Day title.

Good Day (The Kinks song)

"Good Day" is a song released and performed by the British rock band, The Kinks. The song, written by Ray Davies, appeared on the band's album, Word of Mouth.

Background

During the sessions for "Good Day," a drum machine was used instead of drummer Mick Avory, due to the conflicts between Avory and Dave Davies. Ray Davies said of this:

"Good Day" was first released as a single in Britain (as well as Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden) in August 1984, backed with "Too Hot" (both songs would appear on Word of Mouth.) A maxi-single, with "Don't Forget to Dance" added to the two tracks already on the 7 inch single, was also released in the UK. "Good Day", however, was unsuccessful, as it did not chart in any country. In November of that year, "Good Day" appeared as the third track on the first side of The Kinks' album, Word of Mouth. Word of Mouth was a modest success in America (hitting #57), but the album did not achieve the Top 20 success that its predecessors State of Confusion, Give the People What They Want, and Low Budget had.

Good Day (Hayley Warner song)

Good Day is the debut single by Australian singer, Hayley Warner who was the runner-up in the 2009 season of Australian Idol. The song was written by Andy Stochansky, Greg Critchley and Damhnait Doyle and was available for digital download on 22 November 2009. The single was later released to radios and on physical CD on 11 December 2009 after signing a record contract with Sony Music

Frank Gari

Frank Gari (born Frank Daniel Garofalo in New York City on April 1, 1944) is a popular singer and songwriter from the late 1950s and early 1960s. His best known songs as a performer are "Utopia", "Lullaby of Love", and "Princess", all of which hit the U.S. Top 40 Billboard charts in the early 1960s. Contributing to this early acclaim was Gari's unique rich voice blending with carefully selected melodic instrumentation and backup singers, all of which created a deep sense of magic, ethereal perfection, sincerity and emotion. With song writing partner Roger McGuinn of the Byrds they wrote the song Beach Ball while working with the legendary Bobby Darin. Gari and McGuinn appeared on the 1963 Capitol Record Label billed as the City Surfers. Frank performed his records on shows such as The Merv Griffin Show, The Steve Allen Show, and American Bandstand. He also performed at the world famous "Empire Room" of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC with the Woody Herman Band. That year, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, becoming a jingle writer for TV commercials. Some of his early jingles included Ohio Bell, Genie garage doors, the first Wendy's commercials and hundreds more. Frank has won numerous Emmy and Cleo awards. Frank was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the broadcast industry.

Real (IU EP)

Real (stylized as REAL) is the third Korean-language extended play (EP) by South Korean singer-songwriter and actress IU. It was released and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on December 9, 2010. The special edition of the album was sold out during pre-order, which revealed the high anticipation for the album. IU collaborated with some of top vocalists and producers in South Korea such as Yoon Jong-shin, Kim Hyeong-seok, Lee Min-soo, Kim Eana, Shinsadong Tiger, and Choi Gap-won to work on the album. The album's success strengthened the singer's position as the "Nation's Sweetheart" in her native country.

Background and release

Real consists of six songs and an instrumental of the title track, "Good Day" (Hangul: 좋은 날; RR: Joeun Nal). The album came in two different versions, normal and special edition. IU had worked with composers of hit songs such as "Abracadabra", "Nagging", and "Irreversible" to develop this album.

The album reflected the natural image of IU, as described by the album title. The title track is "Good Day" includes a musical combination of violin, wind instruments, guitar, and piano. It also displays her powerful vocals. The lyrics describe a story of a girl who doesn't have the courage to confess to her crush, the sweetness and tension of a first love.
