Chris Rice
Chris Rice is an American singer and songwriter who works in the contemporary Christian music, contemporary folk and adult contemporary genres. He became a recording artist as well in 1996 after signing a contract with Rocketown Records and releasing his debut album, Deep Enough to Dream.
Biography
Early years
Chris Rice, a native of Clinton, Maryland, grew up as the second of four sons born to bookstore owners. His parents, and other adult mentors, influenced Rice's Christian faith and his early work with youth and college students.
Having taken only three years of piano lessons as a child, Rice did not aspire to a career in either music or student work. But frequent invitations to speak and lead music at his church's youth group events led to more such invitations throughout his college years at the University of Maryland, Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, and Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Communication. While leading music and coaching high school soccer teams he began writing songs. What began as weekend and summer work with youth and college students soon turned into a full-time career during his twenties and thirties, and prompted Rice to write and perform mainly on the guitar.
Chris Rice (sport shooter)
Christopher "Chris" Rice (born December 26, 1959 in Saint Thomas) is a sport shooter from the United States Virgin Islands. He has been selected to compete for the Virgin Islands as a lone pistol shooter in two editions of the Olympic Games (2000 and 2004), and has won a bronze medal in free pistol at the 2001 American Continental Championships in Fort Benning, Georgia, United States. Rice also trains under head coach Will Henderson for the Virgin Island Shooting Federation.
Rice's Olympic debut came as the oldest athlete of the Virgin Islands delegation (aged 41) at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he finished thirty-ninth in the air pistol, and twenty-seventh in the free pistol, producing aggregate scores of 560 and 548 respectively.
At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Rice qualified for his second Virgin Islands team in both air and free pistol. He had granted a tripartite invitation in the air pistol from ISSF, after having recorded a personal best of 569 out of a possible 600 to finish tenth at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic one year earlier. In his first event, the 10 m air pistol, Rice fired a score of 560 to finish in a distant forty-sixth position from an enormous field of forty-seven shooters, just nine points short of his personal best. Three days later, in the 50 m pistol, Rice registered the lowest score of the meet at 529 points to round out the field with Namibia's Friedhelm Sack for forty-first place.

The gospel
In Christianity, the gospel (Greek: εὐαγγέλιον euangélion; Old English: gospel), or the Good News, is the news of the coming of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14-15), and of Jesus's death on the cross and resurrection to restore people's relationship with God. It may also include the descent of the Holy Spirit upon believers and the second coming of Jesus.
The message of good news is described as a narrative in the four gospels. The message of good news is described as theology in many of the New Testament letters. It relates to the saving acts of God due to the work of Jesus on the cross and Jesus' resurrection from the dead which bring reconciliation ("atonement") between people and God.
Christian theology describes the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ not as a new concept, but one that has been foretold throughout the Old Testament and was prophetically preached even at the time of the Fall of Man as contained in Genesis . It is called Proto-Evangelion or Proto-Gospel.
The apostle Paul clearly states that the gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
Good News (Kathy Mattea album)
Good News is the first album of Christmas music released by American country music artist Kathy Mattea. It was released in late 1993 on Mercury Records. "Mary, Did You Know?" and "What a Wonderful Beginning" were both covered by Kenny Rogers (the former, as a duet with Wynonna Judd) on his 1996 Christmas album The Gift. "Brightest and Best" is the only traditional song covered here.
