Gogmagog may refer to:

Gogmagog (giant)

Gogmagog (also Goemagot, Goemagog, Goëmagot and Gogmagoc) was a legendary giant in British and English folklore. According to the 12th Century Historia Regum Britanniae ("The History of The Kings of Britain") by Geoffrey of Monmouth, he was a giant inhabitant of Albion, thrown off a cliff during a wrestling match with Corineus (a companion of Brutus of Troy). Gogmagog was believed to be the last killed of the Giants found by Brutus and his men inhabiting the land of Albion. The name "Gogmagog" is often connected to the biblical characters Gog and Magog; however Manley Pope, author of an 1862 English translation of the Welsh chronicle Brut y Brenhinedd (itself a translation of Monmouth's "Historia Regum Britanniae") argued that it was a corruption of Gawr Madoc (Madoc the Great).

Gogmagog (band)

Gogmagog were a British supergroup put together by British record producer Jonathan King that featured former Iron Maiden members Paul Di'Anno and Clive Burr, former White Spirit and Gillan guitarist Janick Gers (who would later join Iron Maiden in 1990), original Def Leppard guitarist Pete Willis, and bassist Neil Murray, who has played in over 30 bands, including Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, and John Sloman's Badlands. Two of the songs recorded were written by King; the third by composer Russ Ballard. Originally, the supergroup was to contain David Coverdale, John Entwistle and Cozy Powell, but this line-up "wasn't working out", according to Di Anno. He also insisted that he hated the finished product and that he "only did it for the money".

All that was ever released of this was the three-song I Will Be There EP in 1985. The title track was originally written and recorded by Ballard on his 1981 album Into the Fire. The artists rehearsed for some days before the sessions and it was all recorded in three hours.
