Go Hard

"Go Hard" is the second single from DJ Khaled's third studio album, We Global. The track features American hip hop artist Kanye West and R&B singer T-Pain. They both used the auto-tune effect. The song is produced by The Runners and it samples the 1984 single "Angel" by Madonna. It first charted on the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip Hop chart on September 9, 2008, debuting at #25, where it peaked at #15, and has started chart on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs debuting at #85 and then rising to #53 so far. It also debuted at #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 the same week the album We Global was released due to digital downloads, also at #19 on the Hot Rap Tracks.

"Go Hard" is featured in the 2009 video game expansion pack, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, and can be found on the in-game radio station The Beat 102.7.

Music video

The official video (directed by Hype Williams) was released on November 7. The low budget music video features cameos from Ace Hood (Wearing a shirt promoting his new album, Gutta), Rick Ross, Tyson Beckford, Tay Dizm and DJ Clue among others. DJ Khaled and T-Pain shot this video and the video for T-Pain's song "Karaoke" on the same day.

"Go Hard (La.La.La)" is a single by American hip hop recording artist Kreayshawn. Released on July 24, 2012, it was the third single from Kreayshawn's debut studio album, Somethin' 'Bout Kreay (2012).

Critical reception

Go Hard (La.La.La) has received critical acclaim. Spin magazine's Marc Hogan noticed that Kreayshawn ditched her traditional hip hop style for the conventional electropop themes heard on the radio, remarking that "Breakfast (Syrup)"'s failure to light up mainstream music charts sparked the genre-shift.

Cotton swab

Cotton swabs (American) or cotton buds (British) consist of a small wad of cotton wrapped around one or both ends of a short rod, usually made of either wood, rolled paper, or plastic. They are commonly used in a variety of applications including first aid, cosmetics application, cleaning, and arts and crafts. The cotton swab is a tool invented in the 1920s by Leo Gerstenzang after he attached wads of cotton to toothpicks. His product, which he named "Baby Gays", went on to become the most widely sold brand name, "Q-tips", with the Q standing for "quality". The term "Q-tips" is often used as a genericized trademark for cotton swabs in the USA and Canada. The Q-tips brand is owned by Unilever and had over $200 million in sales in the US in 2014. Although doctors have said for years that usage of the cotton swab for ear cleaning or scratching is not safe, such use remains the most common.

Construction

The traditional cotton swab has a single tip on a wooden handle, and these are still often used, especially in medical settings. They are usually relatively long, about six inches (15 cm). These often are packaged sterile, one or two to a paper or plastic sleeve. The advantage of the paper sleeve and the wooden handle is that the package can be autoclaved to be sterilized (plastic sleeves or handles would melt in the autoclave).

Q-Tip (musician)

Kamaal Ibn John Fareed (born Jonathan Davis on April 10, 1970), better known by his stage name Q-Tip, is an American rapper and record producer from St. Albans, Queens, New York. He embarked on his music career as part of the critically acclaimed East Coast hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest. John Bush of AllMusic called him "the best rapper/producer in hip-hop history," while editors of About.com placed him on their list of the Top 50 Hip-Hop Producers, as well as placing him on their list of the Top 50 MCs of Our Time (1987–2007). In 2012, The Source ranked him #20 on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time.

Early and personal life

Born Jonathan Davis on April 10, 1970 in Harlem, he converted to Islam in the mid-1990s, and changed his name to Kamaal Ibn John Fareed. He moved to St. Albans, Queens as a child. As referenced in the song "Check the Rhime", he mostly resided at Linden Boulevard. His father was from Montserrat, a British territory in the eastern Caribbean. His mother is an African American from Alabama. His sister, Gwen, is eight years older than him. He attended Murry Bergtraum High School in Manhattan, New York. According to Fareed, he was given his stage name by Afrika Baby Bam of Jungle Brothers, which he used as a replacement for his prior name, MC Love Child.
