Globalization

Globalization (or globalisation) is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and mutual sharing, and other aspects of culture. Advances in transportation, such as the steam locomotive, steamship, jet engine, container ships, and in telecommunications infrastructure, including the rise of the telegraph and its modern offspring, the Internet, and mobile phones, have been major factors in globalization, generating further interdependence of economic and cultural activities. Though scholars place the origins of globalization in modern times, others trace its history long before the European Age of Discovery and voyages to the New World. Some even trace the origins to the third millennium BCE. Large-scale globalization began in the 19th century. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the connectivity of the world's economies and cultures grew very quickly.

The concept of globalization is a very recent term, only establishing its current meaning in the 1970s, which 'emerged from the intersection of four interrelated sets of "communities of practice": academics, journalists, publishers/editors, and librarians. In 2000, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) identified four basic aspects of globalization: trade and transactions, capital and investment movements, migration and movement of people, and the dissemination of knowledge. Further, environmental challenges such as global warming, cross-boundary water and air pollution, and over-fishing of the ocean are linked with globalization. Globalizing processes affect and are affected by business and work organization, economics, socio-cultural resources, and the natural environment.

Globalization (Christian Perspective)

Globalization allowed interaction between countries and the global market and has grown economies to higher levels. It is a highly debated subject and there is a great deal to be discussed about it. One perspective on this worldwide movement is the Christian (religious) point of view. First of all, Christians believe in a higher authority, and aim to model their lives in obedience to their God. That being said, they value community and ultimately care for all the people their God has created. That is on a global scale, not only local. They feel a responsibility to the poor, and encourage globalization as it provides more opportunities for countries with weak economies that struggle with poverty. Work is valuable and there is importance in working in a global economy.

There are three main approaches to this topic from this perspective. There is the Evangelical Approach, Catholic Social teaching, and the Non-Evangelical Perspective.

Evangelical approach

The evangelical approach focuses on the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ through globalization. Globalization opens many doors to many countries, and this perspective looks at that as an opportunity. It is an opportunity to spread the Christian teaching through the doors that have been opened. In this context globalization is seen as a tool, a stepping stone towards achieving the evangelical goal.

Globalization (album)

Globalization is the eighth studio album by American rapper Pitbull. It was released on November 21, 2014 through Mr. 305, Polo Grounds Music, and RCA Records.

Commercial performance

The album debuted at No. 18 on Billboard 200, and No. 3 on Rap Albums, selling 38,000 copies in its first week (49,000 units when streams and track equivalent albums are included). The album has sold 133,000 copies in the United States as of June 2015. The album also debuted at No. 16 on the Canadian Albums chart.

Singles

"Wild Wild Love" was released as the album's lead single on February 25, 2014. The song features guest appearances from American-British-Canadian girl group G.R.L.. The song reached at number 6 on the UK; number 10 in Australia and number 30 in the United States.

"Fireball" was released as the album's second single on July 23, 2014. The song features guest appearance from John Ryan. The song reached at number one in Netherlands; number 6 in Spain; number 9 in Finland and number 23 in the United States.
