Glashütte
Glashütte is a town in Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, Free State of Saxony, Germany, which was the birthplace of the German watchmaking industry. The city has a population of about 7,000. Historically it was first mentioned in a document around 1445. In January 2008, the former municipality Reinhardtsgrimma was merged into Glashütte.

Waldenbuch is situated at an altitude reaching from 340 to 460 meters on the northern edge of Schönbuch forest, 16 km south of Stuttgart.

History
The first documented mention of Waldenbuch is from 1296.
Sights and culture
In the centre of Waldenbuch is the town's landmark Schloss Waldenbuch. The castle is the domicile of the Museum der Alltagskultur, one of the most important museums of folk culture in Germany.
