Christopher 'Chris' Payne (born 15 September 1990) is an Australian football (soccer) player who is currently a free agent, having been released from his 2-year contract by the Newcastle Jets.

Sydney FC [link]

Payne played in all of Sydney's three trial matches and scored a double against his former club Manly United at Cromer Park.[1] His first official competitive outing for Sydney FC came against Queensland Roar in the opening Pre-Season Cup match of the season. Sydney ended up winning the match 2-1 with Payne scoring Sydney's first to level the scores at 1-1 and as a consequence become the club's youngest ever player to score in a fully competitive match. He was officially transferred from Manly a week before the opening round of the 2008/09 season with Manly FC receiving $3000 for the transfer.

He scored his first goal for Sydney FC in the 3-1 victory against Newcastle Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium.[2] While playing against the Wellington Phoenix in the 2009/10 Preliminary final, he scored a controversial[3] goal with his arm.[4] Despite displaying good form during Sydney FC's Finals run, he was not offered a new contract, and went back to his junior club Manly United.[5][6] On 28 June Payne signed a deal with North Queensland Fury for their following season.[7]

Payne scored his first goal for the Townsville club in their Round 1, 3-3 draw with Perth Glory. His goal leveled the scores in the first half at 1-1.[8] He again scored against the Glory in the return match in Townsville, hitting a spectacular strike to the top corner of the Glory goal to open the scoring in the Fury's 2-1 win.[9] North Queensland Fury striker Payne will join Newcastle Jets on a two-year deal for 2011-2012 seasons. Payne made his debut for the Jets, in a pre-season friendly against NSW Premier League club Sutherland Sharks, where he helped the Jets to a 2-1 victory, scoring in the first half.[11] His first A-League appearance for the club came in the 2-1 loss to his former club Sydney FC at Ausgrid Stadium on 17 December 2011.[12]

Despite having a year left on his contract, Payne's future at the Jets looks to be uncertain under new manager Gary van Egmond who has made it clear that Payne is not part of his squad plans, as he believes he is not good enough.[13] It was revealed in January 2012, that the Jets and fellow A-League club Gold Coast United were preparing a 'trade' for Payne with Tahj Minniecon.[14] However this move was thwarted, when Minniecon suffered a heel injury a week before the transfer was to go through, in a Youth League game against Sydney FC.[15] It was announced on 3 February 2012 that Newcastle Jets and Payne had mutually agreed to terminate his contract, more than a year before it expired, due to being unable to secure his position in the squad, as well as it being publicly known that Payne was not part of Van Egmond's squad plans.[16]

Chris Payne (musician)

Chris Payne is an English musician.

He is known as a member of Gary Numans backing-band and the co-writer of Visage's 1981 synthpop hit single Fade to Grey. Payne plays keyboards and viola and also a number of medieval instruments. He formed the band Dramatis with other members of Numans backing-band in the early 1980s. Payne has composed music for television and films and formed the band Celtic Legend. He has composed, scored, recorded and conducted his orchestral and choral works in London and Prague.

    "Give a Little" is the second single written and performed by American pop/rock band Hanson from their fifth studio album Shout It Out. Lead vocals are provided by Taylor Hanson, with Isaac Hanson and Zac Hanson as backing vocals.

    The single was announced by the band on January 13, 2011 on the Hanson.NET members e-mail. It was released on April 05, 2011 on iTunes as a digital single including remixes produced by the band. A 4-track US promo CD single surfaced on eBay mid. February and was sold for about $79.

    To further promote the song, the band performed the song on twelfth season of Dancing with the Stars, on April 26, 2011.

    The song is featured at the opening scene from the 2010 movie Trust. The movie is about a teenage girl who is targeted by an online sexual predator.

    Background

    The upbeat pop/rock number is the second single from American band Hanson's eighth studio album, Shout It Out. The song acts as the follow-up to Thinking 'Bout Somethin'. "'Give a Little' is the perfect connector to the first single," Taylor Hanson told MTV News. "There's this energy to it. Strangely, there's this dance theme. We're not known for our dancing, but dancing is this metaphor that's in the record." "[The metaphor] is kind of 'Get out there and let loose,' " Taylor added. "Spring will be here before we know it, and the song is upbeat and hopefully engaging."
