Girls in Love (TV series)

Girls in Love is a British teen drama series produced by Granada Television which aired on CITV. It is based on the book of the same title, both created by UK author Jacqueline Wilson. The show ran for two series in 2003 to 2005. The show was filmed in Manchester, UK.

Plot

Three teenage girls - Ellie (Hallinan), Magda (Abrahams) and Nadine (Kwolek) are three best friends that go through the somewhat weird and wonderful world of boys together. The show is narrated by Ellie, and usually portrays her life events in her sketchbook, which blends the show's live action with animation in a similar manner to the American teen comedy hit Lizzie Maguire. She lives with her dad and his girlfriend (later wife) Anna, and her baby half-brother Benedict "Eggs".

Girls in Love (novel)

Girls in Love is the first book in the Girls series, written by Dame Jacqueline Wilson, DBE, a noted English author who writes fiction for children and young teenagers. It was first published in 1997. The other books in the series are Girls under Pressure (1998), Girls out Late (1999), and Girls in Tears (2002).

Plot summary

The novel is narrated by Eleanor Allard, a.k.a. Ellie. The book opens with Ellie's Family holiday to Wales where she meets a nerdy boy named Dan, Dan falls for Ellie and asks her out but his feelings are not reciprocated and Ellie turns him down. Ellie arrives back at school after the summer holidays to find her best friend, Nadine, has a new boyfriend named Liam, her other friend, Magda, soon asks a boy named Greg out as well. Feeling left out, Ellie lies to her friends about dating Dan and describes him falsely as cool, handsome and 15 years old. Magda and Ellie begin to worry about the pressure Liam is putting on Nadine about sex, but Nadine dismisses their worries and after a fight begins refuses to speak to them. But eventually she forgives them both.

Synopsis

Jane (Kathryn Bernardo), a die-hard fan, wants to win tickets to Billy Fernandez's (Daniel Padilla) concert.
