Gimlé
Gimle (Gimlé) (alternately Gimli as in Icelandic), in Norse mythology, is a place where the survivors of Ragnarök are foretold to live. It is mentioned in the Prose Edda and Völuspá and described as the most beautiful place on Earth, more beautiful than the Sun.
In Asgard, the realm of the gods, Gimli is the golden roofed building where righteous men go when they die.
Gimle is the name of an exclusive residential area within the borough Frogner in Oslo, which is noted for its many embassies and which has the highest real etate prices in Oslo, and indeed, Norway. The area was historically part of Frogner Manor.
The Norwegian fascist politician and Minister President Vidkun Quisling (1887-1945) named his Bygdøy residence, the Villa Grande, Gimle on the basis of this mythology.
