Gilbert Gil

Gilbert Gil (September 9, 1913 – August 25, 1988) was a French film actor. He also directed a single film Criminal Brigade in 1947.

Gil Seong-joon (Korean: 길성준, Hanja: 吉成俊; born December 24, 1977), better known by his stage name Gill (Korean: 길), is a South Korean singer and television personality. He is co-founder of Leessang. He has been a member of MBC's Infinite Challenge since April 2009.

In 2009, Gil joined Infinity Challenge as a guest and, later on, as a regular co-host. Gil also co-hosted Come To Play. In 2012, Gil joined Voice of Korea as one of the coaches. He is back for Season 2. On July 15, 2012, Gary and Gil were both featured on PSY's "Seventy Seven 101." Psy, Kim Jin Pyo, and Leessang all worked together on the song. The song and the album were "restricted" because of explicit lyrics in "Seventy Seven 101". Psy jokingly said it's all Gary's fault.

Background

In Infinity Challenge episode 253 Gil said that when he was 5 years old, his father fainted, causing him to be disabled. To cure him, they put their house on auction. Gil's father spent around 10 years laying down on bed, before he started to talk and walk again.

Gilbert is the performance name of Matthew Gilbert Linley, a London-based composer and musician. He is also the drummer in Engineers with Mark Peters and Ulrich Schnauss.

Biography

Linley grew up in Eltham, south-east London, England.

He began playing the drums at an early age and then went on to study classical music and composition at Oriel College, Oxford University and Goldsmith's College. After a period of writing soundtracks for film and television he began writing under the Gilbert moniker.

An eponymously named debut Gilbert album completed in 2007 received excellent reviews and extensive national radio airplay, gaining a digital release soon after on the independent record label, Shifty Disco Records.

In 2010, the latest Gilbert album, Wahoola!, was released. About the new record Linley wrote: " I wanted 'Wahoola!' to more obviously feature the talents of the people who have been performing the first album live.....especially Maud Waret's vocals and Brian Lee's violin-playing". In 2013 Gilbert Linley licensed the album 'Wahoola!' to Felt Music Library www.feltmusic.com.

Gilbert (lunar crater)

Gilbert is a large lunar crater that lies near the eastern limb of the Moon. Due to its location this feature appears foreshortened when viewed from the Earth, limiting the amount of detail that can be observed. The crater lies to the northwest of the similar-sized walled plain Kästner, to the west of the Mare Smythii.

Several satellite craters in the vicinity have since been given names by the IAU. Nearly attached to the north-northeastern rim of Gilbert are the craters Weierstrass (Gilbert N) and Van Vleck (Gilbert M), two somewhat similar formations. In the northeastern part of Gilbert's interior floor is the small, bowl-shaped Geissler (Gilbert D).

Gilbert is a somewhat degraded walled plain, with an outer rim that has been somewhat reshaped by nearby impacts. The southern rim has almost completely disintegrated, and forms a rolling surface that flows toward the south as an extended depression. The crater pair of Weierstrass and Van Vleck have formed an indented rim along the northeast face, while the northwest rim is overlain by Gilbert S. The interior floor is relatively level with some low ridges running down the center toward the southern end.
