Get on the Dance Floor
"Get on the Dance Floor" is a 1988 hip-hop single by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. The single was their follow up to their highly successful recording, "It Takes Two". On the dance chart, "Get on the Dance Floor" was more successful than it predecessor, hitting number one for two weeks in January 1989. It also peaked at number eleven on the R&B singles chart.
"Get on the Dance Floor" samples The Jacksons 1978 song, "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) as well as the 1988 track A Day In Your Life performed by Black Riot".

"Dance Floor" a song performed by Zapp. It is the opening track from the band's second studio album Zapp II and serves as the album's second single. The song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but it spent two weeks at #1 on the R&B chart, becoming the band's only song to date to reach #1 on the chart.
When Zapp vocalist Roger Troutman collaborated with Dr. Dre and 2Pac for 1995's "California Love," Troutman used the talk box and interpolated the "Shake it" vocal from "Dance Floor" into "California Love."

Dance Floor (horse)
Dance Floor (foaled 1989 in New Jersey) is a retired American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was bred by William Purdey at his Greenfields Farm in Colts Neck Township, New Jersey. Out of the mare, Dance Troupe, a granddaughter of U.S. racing Hall of fame inductee, Native Dancer, Dance Floor was sired by Star de Naskra, the 1979 American Champion Sprint Horse.
Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas conditioned Dance Floor for owner MC Hammer, a Rap singer who raced him under his Oaktown Stable banner. At age two, Dance Floor was one of the top colts in the United States, winner of the 1991 Breeders' Futurity Stakes and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes and runnerup in the Hollywood Futurity. Sent off as the bettors' third choice in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, he finished sixth under jockey Pat Day to winner Arazi in one of the most memorable wins in Breeders' Cup history.
Racing at age three, Dance Floor won Florida's Fountain of Youth Stakes, was second in the Florida Derby, and third in the Kentucky Derby and Travers Stakes.
