Get Closer (song)
"Get Closer" is a song by American soft rock duo Seals and Crofts, released as a single in 1976. The song is the title track of their eighth studio album, Get Closer. It reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Billboard ranked it as the No. 16 song of 1976.
The song features vocals by former Honey Cone member, Carolyn Willis.

Get Closer (1982) is a Grammy Award-winning album by singer/songwriter/producer Linda Ronstadt.
History
Get Closer found Ronstadt returning to the genres that had resulted in her commercial and critical success throughout the 1970s, and working again with British musician and producer Peter Asher.
The album contained two tracks originally recorded for but never included on previous albums. The first, a re-make of Jones' "Sometimes You Just Can't Win," was recorded in June 1977 with J. D. Souther on harmony vocals and intended for the album Simple Dreams. The other, a remake of Dolly Parton's 1971 recording "My Blue Tears," was performed with Parton and Emmylou Harris as part of a planned trio album that, because of scheduling and record company conflicts, was never released. The trio's version was originally recorded in January 1978 (Parton, Ronstadt and Harris would eventually record and release the first of two Trio albums in 1987). Also on Get Closer was a duet with James Taylor: a remake of Ike and Tina Turner's "I Think It's Gonna Work Out Fine".

Get Closer is Seals and Crofts' eighth studio album. The title cut was a top 10 hit in early 1976, reaching #6 on the Pop charts, and #2 AC. It was their last hit to make it that high on the charts. "Goodbye Old Buddies" reached #10 on the AC chart as well.
The song "Get Closer" features the vocals of Carolyn Willis, who had been in the group Honey Cone.
"Sweet Green Fields" was sampled in the 1997 song "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See" by Busta Rhymes and later in 2002 by Syleena Johnson on her song "Tonight I'm Gonna Let Go".
