Gedo (wrestler)

Keiji Takayama (高山 圭司, Takayama Keiji, born February 20, 1969) is a Japanese professional wrestler, better known as Gedo (外道, Gedō). He formed a long-lasting tag team with Jado.

Professional wrestling career

Gedo debuted on March 19, 1989 for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) during the Takeshi Puroresu Gundan (TPG), NJPW's parody of World Wrestling Federation's Rock 'n Wrestling era. His debut match was against Magic Monkey Wakita, who would later be known as Super Delfin, on March 19, 1989. After TPG died out, Gedo, Wakita, and TPG comrade Jado left NJPW. Jado and Gedo went on to become one of the premiere tag teams in Japan.

Jado and Gedo headed to the Universal Wrestling Association in Mexico as Punish (Jado) and Crush (Gedo), and defeated Silver King and El Texano for the UWA/UWF Intercontinental Tag Team Championship on November 8, 1991. They would win these belts on two more occasions in 1992. This led to their many tours with W*NG and were apart of the incident where Kanemura was burnt. Jado and Gedo headed to Wrestle Association "R" in 1994 and became one of the top tag teams there, winning the WAR World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with "Kodo" Fuyuki, defeating Genichiro Tenryu, Animal Hamaguchi and Koki Kitahara on June 6, 1994. Gedo would win this belt four more times between 1994 and 1996.

Gedo

Gedo (Somali: Gedo, Arabic: جوبا الوسطى‎) is an administrative region (gobol), formerly part of the historic Upper Juba Region in southern Somalia. Its regional capital is Garbahaarreey. Gedo is a region created in 1980s and is bordered by the Ogaden in Ethiopia, the North Eastern Province in Kenya, and the Somali regions of Bakool, Bay, Jubbada Dhexe (Middle Juba), and Jubbada Hoose (Lower Juba) further down east. The southern parts of Gedo, west of the Jubba River, used to be part of the old British Transjuba region during half of the seventy years of colonial era in Africa from 1890 to 1960. The British and Italians fought over twice in this area of Horn of Africa. Gedo region's population exploded in the last twenty years reaching almost one million in the early 1990s after the civil war erupted in Mogadishu.

Most of the newcomers to the region, suddenly left and resettled different parts of world. This immigration made Buuloxaawo the second largest district in Gedo. Luuq used to be the second largest city and district after Bardera. At one time Buuloxaawo District was the largest city and district in the region.

Gedō (外道), also romanized simply as Gedo or Gedou, is a Japanese rock band. They were formed in 1973. The band split a first time in 1976, and then reformed and splitted again several times. Their first self-titled album is highly acclaimed in their home country, having been featured on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest Japanese albums (N°24) and Julian Cope's Japrocksampler, among other lists.
