Gary Clark

Gary C. Clark (born May 1, 1962) is a former professional American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) who played for the Washington Redskins (1985–1992), Phoenix Cardinals (1993–1994) and Miami Dolphins (1995).

Early life

Clark attended and played high school football at Pulaski County High School in Dublin, Virginia.

College career

Clark played college football at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he caught 155 passes for 2,863 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had three punt returns for touchdowns, including 89- and 87-yard returns in a game during the 1983 season against the University of Virginia. Clark was at James Madison during the Dukes' first four Division I-AA seasons. He caught 46 passes for James Madison's 8-3 team in 1982 and had 57 receptions in 1983. He was the Virginia offensive player of the year in 1982 and an honorable mention All-American in 1982 and 1983.

Clark became the first person in James Madison history to have his jersey retired.

Gary Clark (musician)

Gary Clark (born 10 March 1962, Dundee, Scotland) is a Scottish musician, songwriter and producer. As a performer he is best known as the frontman of 1980s sophisti-pop band Danny Wilson and mid-1990s rock band King L (as well as for being a member of Transister). Since the mid-1990s he has concentrated on songwriting and production.

During the early 1980s Clark worked with his long-time friend, Ged Grimes in a variety of London-based bands including Clark's Commandos and Dream Kitchen. Returning to Dundee, Clark and Grimes formed a trio with Gary's brother Kit Clark, initially under the name of Spencer Tracy. They signed to Virgin Records in 1986, and (after objections from the estate of Spencer Tracy) changed their name to Danny Wilson.

The following year saw the release of the band's first album Meet Danny Wilson. The first single, "Mary's Prayer", written by Clark, was a worldwide hit, reaching number 3 in the UK, and #23 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart, earning him a BMI award, and a nomination for an Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. A second album Bebop Moptop was released in 1989, including hit single "Second Summer of Love" which reached number 23 in the UK Singles Chart. The band split in 1991.

Gary Clark (Scottish footballer)

Gary Clark (born 13 September 1964 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played as a midfielder.

Career

He played for Pollok Juniors in 1985 and won the League, Scottish Cup and Cup Winners Cup. He then joined Falkirk (apps 12 goals 2) in the Scottish 1st Division in 1986 the year they won promotion to the Scottish Premier League. Stayed there until the following season where he was freed and went to play for Sunshine George Cross (apps 39 goals 13) in Australia. He played in the National Soccer League until November 1988, moved back to Scotland and then played for Sliema Wanderers for six months in Malta (apps 12 goals 1) Davie Provan signed for Albion Rovers (apps 21 goals 10) until the end of season May 1989. He was then signed by John Clark for Clyde, £10,000, (apps 26 goals 11) for the season 1989/90.

Billy McLaren paid £60,000 to take him to Hamilton Academical (apps 258 goals 72). During the 8 seasons with the 'Accies' he won 2 Challenge Cup Winners medals and played under the management of Iain Munro, Sandy Clark and Colin Miller. Terry Christie signed him for Alloa Athletic (apps 24 goals 5) for season 1999-2000 and the team went on to win promotion and the Challenge Cup. At the end of that season he left Alloa FC and Ally Dawson took him back to Hamilton Academicals, where they won the League, for his last season in senior football.

Gary Lee Clark, Jr. (born February 15, 1984) is an American guitarist and actor based in Austin, Texas. Clark shared the stage with various legends of rock and roll, and has stated that he is "influenced by blues, jazz, soul [and] country, as well as hip hop". Clark's musical trademarks are his distorted guitar sound and smooth vocal style.

Musical career

Gary Clark Jr. began playing guitar at the age of twelve. Born and raised in Austin, Clark played small gigs throughout his teens, until he met promoter Clifford Antone, proprietor of the Austin music club Antone's. Antone's was the launch pad from which Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan redefined blues at the time. Soon after meeting Clifford, Clark began to play with an array of musical icons, including Jimmie Vaughan. Vaughan and others in the Austin music community helped Clark along his musical path, facilitating his ascent in the Texas rock and roll scene. Clark's music demonstrates how the blues have shaped virtually every medium of music over the past century, from hip-hop to country.

Gary Clark (golfer)

Gary Ben Clark (born 9 April 1971) is an English professional golfer.

Clark was born in London. He attended the University of Arkansas before turning professional in 1995. He qualified for the European Tour through qualifying school at the end of that year.

Clark finished in 103rd place on the Order of Merit in his début season. Since losing his playing privileges the following year, he has played predominantly on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour, where he has a best of 5th place on the end of season rankings in 2001. That enabled him to graduate back to the European Tour for the following season. He has also come through qualifying school twice, in 2005 and 2008, to regain his place at the top level, but has not been able to maintain his card although he was granted a medical exemption for the 2010 season.

Clark recorded his maiden professional win in 2008 at the DHL Wroclaw Open on the Challenge Tour.
