Oxymoron (album)

Oxymoron is the third studio album by American rapper Schoolboy Q. The album was released on February 25, 2014, by Top Dawg Entertainment and Interscope Records. Oxymoron was his first album released under a major record label to music retailers, whereas his previous albums were released independently to digital retailers only.

The album's recording took place from June 2012 through 2013. Schoolboy Q enlisted collaborators such as Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, ASAP Rocky, Jay Rock, Tyler, The Creator and Kurupt, among others. The album's production was handled by high-profile record producers such as Boi-1da, The Alchemist, Mike Will Made It, Clams Casino, Nez and Rio, DJ Dahi and Pharrell, as well as others, including members of Top Dawg Entertainment's in-house production teams Digi+Phonics and THC.

Upon its release, Oxymoron received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised its haunting production and Schoolboy Q's aggressive lyrics. Oxymoron was also a commercial success, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 selling 139,000 copies in its first week of release. It additionally peaked highly on the main album charts in Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Girl (Beck song)

"Girl" is a Beck song from the 2005 album Guero. It was released as the second single from the album in July 2005. The video for the song, created by Motion Theory, was inspired by the MAD fold-ins by Al Jaffee. The song begins with a simple chiptune melody. The rest of the song consists of acoustic guitars and drums.

The music video for Girl was directed by Motion Theory.

In the video, Beck gets a limousine advertisement entitled "Lester's Big Ass Limousines...Moving Party For Hire" which folds to become "Less Is More". Later on, Beck is in a pharmacy, buying an over-the-counter drug. When he is looking at it, the walls and floor fold, making a skull with red eyes on the shelves and a sign above that saying "Side Effects: Death" The next fold is at what seems to be garage sale. There is a painting of the Virgin Mary on the wall, which then folds. In the foreground, two toy cars have been folded together. Beck is seen later on in the video driving the car that looks like the car that this fold makes. The next fold takes place on a sidewalk, where a little girl is doing a chalk drawing. She sets down the chalk and walks away, the side walk folds and it takes the form of human outline, with police and the yellow tape around it. The fold after this one is a homeless person begging on the corner when Beck is driving by. The man holds a sign in his hand which says "Loose Change OK Allan's Anyway". The man proceeds to fold the sign, which now reads "Look Away". Later in the video, a sign is folded together to form the words "Where It's At" with 2 records and a microphone, which is in reference to the Beck song of the same name.

Girl is a 1998 American drama film starring Dominique Swain, Christopher Masterson, Selma Blair, Tara Reid, Summer Phoenix, Portia de Rossi and Sean Patrick Flanery. It was based on the novel of the same name, written by Blake Nelson. It was written by Blake Nelson and David E. Tolchinsky and directed by Jonathan Kahn.

Plot

Andrea Marr (Dominique Swain) is a bright, straight-A, mature, 18-year-old high school senior on the verge of womanhood who decides to abandon her sheltered, boring lifestyle and her bookish friend Darcy (Selma Blair) for a look into the local rock and roll scene. There she meets local rock singer Todd Sparrow (Sean Patrick Flanery), with whom she has a groupie fling. Aspiring rock star Cybil (Tara Reid), fellow student outgoing fellow groupie Rebecca (Summer Phoenix) guide Andrea during her time as a groupie.
