Gad Menahem Landau (born 1954) is an Israeli computer scientist noted for his contributions to combinatorial pattern matching and string algorithms and is the founding department chair of the Computer Science Department at the University of Haifa.
He has coauthored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Landau received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University in 1987. From 1988 to the present he has held positions as Assistant, Associate, and Research Professor at Polytechnic University in New York (now called NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, New York University). In 1995, Landau joined the faculty of the University of Haifa, where he founded the Department of Computer Science and was the first department head. In 2006, Landau was promoted to his current position of full Professor at the University of Haifa. Throughout his years in New York and Haifa, he has supervised over 20 graduate and post-doctoral students; many of whom are currently active researchers with permanent academic positions.

In geometry, the great dodecahedron is a Kepler-Poinsot polyhedron, with Schläfli symbol {5,5/2} and Coxeter-Dynkin diagram of . It is one of four nonconvex regular polyhedra. It is composed of 12 pentagonal faces (six pairs of parallel pentagons), with five pentagons meeting at each vertex, intersecting each other making a pentagrammic path.
It shares the same edge arrangement as the convex regular icosahedron.
If the great dodecahedron is considered as a properly intersected surface geometry, it has the same topology as a triakis icosahedron with concave pyramids rather than convex ones.
A truncation process applied to the great dodecahedron produces a series of nonconvex uniform polyhedra. Truncating edges down to points produces the dodecadodecahedron as a rectified great dodecahedron. The process completes as a birectification, reducing the original faces down to points, and producing the small stellated dodecahedron.
