GTECH S.p.A. (ex Lottomatica S.p.A.) is an Italian company active in the gaming business and it is the license holder for the Italian National Lottery. The world's largest operator of lotteries (its portfolio includes Italy's Lotto game), Lottomatica also provides various other gaming services and related technologies. The company has its offices in Rome.
In August 2006, De Agostini Group completed the acquisition of GTECH Corporation, a U.S. gaming company. This transaction has created one of the world's leading gaming solutions providers, with significant global market share and the broadest portfolio of technology, services, and content solutions. GTECH manages many state lotteries in the United States and also has contracts to manage local and national lotteries in Europe, Australia, Latin America the Caribbean and Asia. It is controlled with a 59.8% stake by the De Agostini group.
GTECH's S.p.A. ticker symbol is GTK and listed on the Mercato Telematico Azionario in Milan, and managed by Borsa Italiana since 17 May 2001.
