G. W. Bridge

George Washington "G. W." Bridge is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is a former mercenary and high-ranking agent of S.H.I.E.L.D..

G.W. Bridge first appeared in X-Force (vol. 1) #1 and was created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld.

Fictional character biography

Little is known about George Washington Bridge's early youth. He prefers to call himself "G. W." to avoid any jokes about the actual George Washington Bridge. A seventeen-year-old G. W. served in the Vietnam War before later using his military skills to become a highly skilled mercenary and a part of the Wild Pack, a group of mercenaries gathered by Cable. Other members included Theodore Winchester (Grizzly), Domino, Garrison Kane, and Eugene Eisenhower "Ike" Canty (Hammer). In one mission, Bridge and the others experienced Cable's teleportation technology, a beneficial but shocking surprise. After several successful missions, the Wild Pack was hired by Mr. Tolliver, an arms dealer, under the condition that they changed their name; agents from Silver Sable had let them know that the name "Wild Pack" was taken. The team renamed itself Six Pack and went on the mission. The mission turned out to be disastrous, as they encountered Stryfe, Cable's archenemy. Cable shot Hammer in order to prevent him from surrendering vital intelligence. Cable then left using futuristic technology that was unable to carry the other members of the team. This act convinced Six Pack that Cable purposely abandoned them. In the ensuing destruction, Kane lost both of his arms. Bridge, Domino, and Grizzly managed to escape. Kane and Hammer survived, but were heavily injured. Hammer would use a wheelchair for the rest of his life, while Kane would receive cybernetic replacements for the arms he lost.

Bluhdorn period

Gulf and Western's origins date to a manufacturer named the Michigan Bumper Company founded in 1934, although Charles Bluhdorn treated his 1958 takeover of what was then Michigan Plating and Stamping, as its "founding" for the purpose of later anniversaries.

Under Bluhdorn the company diversified widely, leaving behind such things as stamping metal bumpers for a variety of businesses, including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Apparel & Home, Consumer & Agricultural, Auto Parts, Natural Resources & Building Products, Entertainment and Publishing. EMD G22 Series

The EMD G22 Locomotive Series made their debut in 1967 after the rise in popularity of the export EMD G12. Designed to meet most First World, Second World and Third World countries, the G22 Series were now equipped with a naturally aspirated EMD 645 Series engine as well as four axle Flexicoil Type-B trucks which carry a low per-axle weight. Based on customer input, the G22 Series would be defined by various designations that suit the customer's railway operations.

The standard suffixes applied after the G22 designation were if the customer purchased locomotives with specific traction motors to fit Narrow Gauge (U) or Broad Gauge (W) rails. As the years progressed, the customers began to have more options available for their locomotives such as EMD Dash 2 Electronics, Alternators instead of Generators, A-1-A running gear and/or steam generators, etc.

The G22 designation can freely apply to the designs of any EMD export model or a licensee of EMD as long as the electrical and mechanical gear were left unaltered.

G4W Guangzhou–Macau Expressway

The Guangzhou–Macau Expressway (Chinese: 广州－澳门高速公路), commonly referred to as the Guang'ao Expressway (Chinese: 广澳高速公路) is an expressway that connects the cities of Guangzhou, Guangdong, and Macau, a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. It is a spur line of the G4 Beijing–Hong Kong–Macau Expressway.

The extension to Macau at the Lotus Bridge is planned, so the current southern terminus is in Zhuhai at Zhuhai Avenue.
