Gío

Gío is one of five parishes in Illano, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is situated on a slope with a view of the Navia River.

It is 5.5 km² (2.1 sq mi) in size. The population is 41.

Drake & Josh Go Hollywood

Drake & Josh Go Hollywood (also known as Drake & Josh Go Hollywood: The Movie) is the made-for-TV film starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck from the Nickelodeon television series Drake & Josh. The film first aired on January 6, 2006 and was released on DVD and VHS on January 31, 2006. The film was shot between July and August 2005. According to TV Guide, the film was the highest rated program on all of cable during its opening week with over 5.8 million viewers.

Plot

Kuso

Kuso is the term used in East Asia for the internet culture that generally includes all types of camp and parody. In Japanese, kuso (糞,くそ) means "crap" or "shit" and "bullshit", and is often uttered as an interjection. It is also used to describe outrageous matters and objects of poor quality. This definition of kuso was brought into Taiwan around 2000 by young people who frequent Japanese websites and quickly became an internet phenomenon, spreading to Taiwan and Hong Kong and subsequently to China. In Chinese it is called "e'gao" (S: 恶搞, T: 惡搞, P: ègǎo), with the first character meaning "evil" or "gross" and the second meaning "to make fun of [someone/something]." In 2007 the word was so new that it was not listed in Chinese dictionaries.

Background

The root of Taiwanese "kuso" was kuso-ge from Japan. The word kusoge is a clipped compound of kuso and gēmu (ゲーム,game), which means, quite literally, "crappy (video) games." The introduction of such a category originally was to teach gamers how to appreciate and enjoy a game of poor quality—such as appreciating the games' outrageous flaws instead of becoming frustrated by them. This philosophy soon spread to Taiwan, where people would share the games and their (oft-satirical) comments on BBSes. Games generally branded as kuso in Taiwan include Hong Kong 97 and the Death Crimson series.

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf clubs in the world (the oldest possibly being The Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh at Barnton, Edinburgh, instituted 1735). It is based in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, and is regarded as the worldwide "Home of Golf". Formerly, it was also one of the governing authorities of the game, but in 2004 this role was handed over to a newly formed group of companies, collectively known as The R&A.

History

The organisation was founded in 1754 as the Society of St Andrews Golfers, a local golf club playing at St Andrews Links, but quickly grew in importance. In 1834, King William IV became its patron and the club became known under its present name. In 1897, the Society codified the rules of golf, and, gradually over the next 30 years, was invited to take control of the running of golf tournaments at other courses.

Membership policy

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club (but not The R&A) had a men-only membership policy; in 2012, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called on the club to abandon this in favour of a non-discriminatory policy, as did the Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Andrews, Louise Richardson.

Propane

Propane (/ˈproʊpeɪn/) is a three-carbon alkane with the molecular formula C

8, a gas at standard temperature and pressure, but compressible to a transportable liquid. A by-product of natural gas processing and petroleum refining, it is commonly used as a fuel for engines, oxy-gas torches, portable stoves, and residential central heating. Propane is one of a group of liquefied petroleum gases (LP gases). The others include butane, propylene, butadiene, butylene, isobutylene and mixtures thereof.

Propane containing too much propene (also called propylene) is not suited for most vehicle fuels. HD-5 is a specification that establishes a maximum concentration of 5% propene in propane. Propane and other LP gas specifications are established in ASTM D-1835. All propane fuels include an odorant, almost always ethanethiol, so that people can easily smell the gas in case of a leak. Propane as HD-5 was originally intended for use as vehicle fuel. HD-5 is currently being used in all propane applications.

1,1,1-Trichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane

Trichlorotrifluoroethane, also called 1,1,1-Trichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane or CFC-113a is a chlorofluorocarbon (CFC). It has the formula Cl₃C-CF₃.

Environmental effects

Ozone depletion

It is one of four man-made chemicals newly discovered in the atmosphere by a team at the University of East Anglia. But CFC-113a is the only known CFC whose abundance in the atmosphere is still growing. CFC-113a seems to have been accumulating unabated since 1960. Its source remains a mystery, but illegal manufacturing in China is suspected by some. Between 2010 and 2012, emissions of the gas jumped by 45 percent.

G.O.R.A. is a 2004 Turkish science-fiction comedy film, directed by Ömer Faruk Sorak, which stars Cem Yılmaz as a used carpet salesman who is abducted by aliens from the planet G.O.R.A. The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on November 5, 2004 (2004-11-05), was one of the highest grossing Turkish films of 2004 and was followed by the sequel A.R.O.G (2008).

Synopsis

The film is about a used carpet salesman Arif (played by Cem Yılmaz) who is abducted by aliens from the planet G.O.R.A. There he becomes involved in thwarting a diabolical scheme being advanced by the planet's security chief Logar (also played by Cem Yılmaz) and saves the planet. The film spoofs various science fiction films such as Star Wars, The Fifth Element and The Matrix.

Todd Brown, writing for Twitch Film, describes the film as, "a very funny, very Mel Brooks inspired sci fi comedy," with "some pitch perfect knocks on both Star Wars and the Matrix films in there," that "looked good...went on to become a huge hit in its native country," and "re-introduced Turkish genre film to international audiences as it rolled out on the festival circuit," proving that Turkey "was capable of producing big, glossy productions with the very best of them."
