Fury (Star Wars novel)

Fury is the seventh book in the Legacy of the Force series. It is a paperback by Aaron Allston and was released on November 27, 2007. It was #4 on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Plot summary

After the Hapans, led by Tenel Ka, decide to leave the Galactic Alliance, Jacen Solo, now calling himself Darth Caedus devises a plan and kidnaps his daughter by Tenel Ka, Allana, to force the Hapan Queen to continue supporting the government. Meanwhile, a Jedi strike team, led by Jedi Master Kyle Katarn, tries to take on Caedus on Coruscant, but Caedus prevails with the help of some guards, ending with the decapitation of Mithric, a Falleen Jedi. However, the team successfully places a tracking beacon on Caedus.

Later, the team of Han, Leia, Jaina, Jag and Zekk slips aboard the Anakin Solo to get information on Dark Jedi Alema Rar, and with it they track her down to Lumiya's asteroid home and kill her with Jag's Mandalorian crushgauntlets. Also, Zekk sets Ship free with the use of the dark side of the Force, and Jaina helps him back to the light side afterwards. Caedus also decides to tell Allana that he is her father after she discovered that he kidnapped her rather than legitimately taking care of her.

Fury (1936 film)

Fury is a 1936 American drama film directed by Fritz Lang which tells the story of an innocent man (Spencer Tracy) who narrowly escapes being lynched and the revenge he seeks. The picture was released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and stars Sylvia Sidney and Tracy, with a supporting cast featuring Walter Abel, Bruce Cabot, Edward Ellis and Walter Brennan. Loosely based on the events surrounding the Brooke Hart murder, the movie was adapted by Bartlett Cormack and Lang from the story Mob Rule by Norman Krasna. Fury was Lang's first American film.

Plot

En route to meet his fiancée, Katherine Grant (Sylvia Sidney), Joe Wilson (Spencer Tracy) is arrested on flimsy circumstantial evidence for the kidnapping of a child. Gossip soon travels around the small town, growing more distorted through each retelling, until a mob gathers at the jail. When the resolute sheriff (Edward Ellis) refuses to give up his prisoner, the enraged townspeople burn down the building, two of them also throwing dynamite into the flames as they flee the scene. Unknown to anyone else there, the blast frees Wilson, but kills his little dog Rainbow, who had run in to comfort him in the cell.

Fury (Rushdie novel)

Fury, published in 2001, is the seventh novel by postcolonial author Salman Rushdie. Rushdie deploys a Roman conceit as an extended metaphor throughout the novel as he depicts contemporary New York City as the epicenter of globalization and all of its tragic flaws.

Plot summary

Malik Solanka, a Cambridge-educated millionaire from Bombay, is looking for an escape from himself. At first he escapes from his academic life by immersing himself into a world of miniatures (after becoming enamored with the miniature houses on display at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam), eventually creating a puppet called "Little Brain" and leaving the academy for television.

However, dissatisfaction with the rising popularity of "Little Brain" serves to ignite deeper demons within Solanka's life, resulting in the narrowly avoided murder of his wife and child. To further escape, Solanka travels to New York, hopeful he can lose himself and his demons in America, only to find that he is forced to confront himself.

Aion (Japanese band)

Aion (stylized as AION) is a Japanese metal band from Osaka, formed in 1983 by guitarist Izumi. Aion are considered to be important to the formation of visual kei, credited as being one of the bands to start the movement in the early '80s. They were also one of the most successful Japanese heavy metal bands of the early '90s, charting on the Oricon music chart and touring with big bands such as Luna Sea. As of 2010 they have released 15 full albums, 6 singles, 2 EPs and more than 10 VHS/DVD.

History

Aion was originally created in 1983 by Izumi Ochiai, he soon ended it in 1985 to start a new band named Mein Kampf (which included future X guitarist Kerry and Color drummer Toshi). But this band was short lived as well, only lasting until May 1986. Izumi then decided to try again with Aion, bringing with him Mein Kampf bassist Tatsuya "Dean" Miwa and vocalist Kenichi "Rod" Fujisaki, and adding Jun "S.A.B" Saburi on drums. Rod would soon be replaced by Salee, whom after a year, would then be replaced by Satoru Sasano. And with this line-up they had their first official release, the 1987 single "Hang on Night". In 1988 Satoru left and Hisayoshi Hiraga joined, their first album Deathrash Bound was released in 1989. Hisayoshi left soon after the album's release, and they finally got a steady vocalist when he was replaced by Nov.

Aion (Dead Can Dance album)

Aion is the fifth studio album by Dead Can Dance, released in 1990. The first album Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry wrote after the end of their romantic partnership, it was recorded at Perry's new estate, Quivvy Church in Ireland, and at Woodbine Street Recording Studios in Leamington Spa.

The male soprano David Navarro Sust contributes vocals to tracks 1 and 7.

The album cover shows a detail from the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch's triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights (specifically, its central "Earth" panel).

Aion (Polish band)

Aion was a Polish gothic metal band formed in 1996.

Band history

Aion was formed in Poznań in January 1996. In this year, the band recorded their first promotional demo. One month later, in July, Aion signed contract with Poznanian record label Morbid Noizz Productions. In result of this, the first studio album entitled Midian, was released. In 1997 album received "debut of the year" award by readers of Metal Hammer (Polish edition). During promotional tour they supported bands, such as Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Artrosis, Vader, Love Like Blood and Sacriversum. Signing contract with Massacre Records led to grow band's popularity outside motherland. In mid-1997 band played at Wacken Open Air festival.

In the end of July 1998, Aion recorded material to the second album, Noia, which was released in November, the same year. The album was nomineed to presigious Polish Fryderyki award in "Hard 'N' Heavy Album of the Year" category. Noia contains a cover version of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna". The release of the third album, Reconciliation (2000), was connected with changing of record label to Metal Mind Productions. The band's lineup was changed for the first time in 2001, when keyboardist Łukasz Migdalski was replaced by Marcin Żmuda. There have been numerous lineup changes since then. In 2001-2004 period Aion released two albums: Symbol and One of 5.
