Fun! Fun! Fun! (Shonen Knife album)

Fun! fun! fun! is a pop-punk album by Japanese pop punk band Shonen Knife, released in 2007 on Blues Interactions Japan. The album marked the 25th anniversary of the band.

A remastered version with all-English lyrics (catalog number BF-7CD) was on sale during the band's European tour in 2009. The cover art of the English version has a blue background in place of the Japanese version's green background, and is in a regular CD jewel case instead of the Japanese version's cardboard gate-fold case.

Fun, Fun, Fun

"Fun, Fun, Fun" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for American rock band the Beach Boys. It was released in 1964 as a single backed with "Why Do Fools Fall in Love", both later appearing on the band's album Shut Down Volume 2.

The song is one of many by the Beach Boys that virtually defined the California myth. Its lyrics are about a teenage girl who tricks her father so she can go hot-rodding with his Ford Thunderbird. At the end, her father discovers her deception and takes the keys from her. The narrator then comes to the girl's rescue with his own car.

Composition

The song was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love and was based upon real life occurrences in the life of Dennis Wilson. In 1996, Russ Titelman recalled that he visited Brian while he was working on the song, and that its original lyric was "Run, Run, Run". Then-manager Murry Wilson was dissatisfied with the song, and had engineer Chuck Britz cancel one of its recording sessions. However, Brian rescheduled the session after discovering what happened.

Fun Fun

Fun Fun were a popular Italian Italo disco/synthpop musical group during the 1980s. Their hits included "Colour My Love" and "Baila Bolero".

Producers Dario Raimondi and Alvaro Ugolini teamed up with studio vocalists Antonella Pepe, Angela Parisi and Ivana Spagna to create a bouncy, high-energy, dancefloor-friendly sound. Their first release, 1983's "Happy Station", found success in Italy and other parts of Europe, thanks to several extended versions, including the notorious "Scratch" version. It also reached number 1 in South Africa.

Upon receiving invitations for live performances, Raimondi and Ugolini decided to use models for Fun Fun's public image rather than the vocalists themselves, a common tactic used in the European dance music scene by artists like Baltimora and The Real McCoy. "Have Fun!", the band's first full album from 1984, featured Francesca Merola and Roberta Servelli as the on-stage faces for the group. "Have Fun!" featured other popular dance singles, including "Give Me Your Love," "Living In Japan" and the band's oft-covered signature hit "Colour My Love", which became popular in American nightclubs because of its insistent synth bassline and easily mixable percussion intro.
