Frida

Frida is a 2002 American biopic drama film which depicts the professional and private life of the surrealist Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. It stars Salma Hayek in her Academy Award-nominated portrayal as Kahlo and Alfred Molina as her husband, Diego Rivera. The movie was adapted by Clancy Sigal, Diane Lake, Gregory Nava and Anna Thomas from the book Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera. It was directed by Julie Taymor. It won two Academy Awards for Best Makeup and Best Original Score.

Plot

Frida begins just before the traumatic accident Frida Kahlo (Salma Hayek) suffered at the age of 18 when a trolley bus collided with a motor bus she was riding. She is impaled by a metal pole and the injuries she sustained plague her for the rest of her life. To help her through convalescence, her father brings her a canvas upon which to start painting. Throughout the film, a scene starts as a painting, then slowly dissolves into a live-action scene with actors.

Frida also details the artist's dysfunctional relationship with the muralist Diego Rivera (Alfred Molina). When Rivera proposes to Kahlo, she tells him she expects from him loyalty if not fidelity. Diego's appraisal of her painting ability is one of the reasons that she continues to paint. Throughout the marriage, Rivera cheats on her with a wide array of women, while the bisexual Kahlo takes on male and female lovers, including in one case having an affair with the same woman as Rivera.

Caber

Caber is one of the Celtic gods of Avalon, a warrior god. The character, created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz, first appeared in Thor #398 (Dec. 1988).

Caber joined his friend Leir and the other Celtic gods in aiding the Asgardians in their battle against the forces of the Egyptian god Seth. With Leir, Caber next attacked the camp of the Fomorians, the traditional enemies of Avalon. Leir wished to claim Sif as his bride, so Caber followed him to Asgard on Leir's request. Caber and Leir were captured by the Warriors Three. Caber clashed with Heimdall in Asgard, and then later arrived on Earth with Leir and Sif. Caber, Leir, and Sif then traveled to the Black Galaxy and found Thor there. The gods then traveled to Asgard. Caber, Leir, and Hercules then battled Surtur and Ymir. Caber then witnessed Leir's defeat in Leir's duel with Sif.

Caber possesses the typical powers of a member of the race of superhumans known as the Celtic gods of Avalon. This includes superhuman strength, speed, durability, stamina, and reflexes, and an extremely long lifespan.

Frida is the original soundtrack album, on the Universal label, of the 2002 Academy Award- and Golden Globe Award-winning film Frida starring Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Mía Maestro and Ashley Judd. The original score was composed by Elliot Goldenthal. The soundtrack features songs by various artists.

The score

The album won both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score. At the World Soundtrack Awards it won two awards: "Best Original Soundtrack of the Year" and "Soundtrack Composer of the Year".

The Poleň village is situated in the southwestern part of Czech Republic in the middle of Europe. On the date 2008-12-31 there were 295 inhabitants (in all of its parts). There are seven parts of the Municipality of Poleň: villages Poleň, Mlýnec, Poleňka, Pušperk and Zdeslav and the settlements Čekanice and Liška.

Geography

This place lies in 458 metres above sea level in the valley of the Poleňka Stream. From the eastern and southern side bordered with the Bítovy mountains with the peaks Doubrava (727 m), Malý Bítov (668 m) and Velký Bítov (713 m).

The nearest neighbours of Poleň are Pušperk, Poleňka and Slatina on North, Drslavice on East, Mlýnec and Zdeslav on Southwest and Černíkov on West.

History

The first written reference about the village comes from 1245. . In the sheet which illustrates the disposal of Újezd Přeštický to Monastery of Kladruby by Queen Kunhuta, Blažej ze Švihova, the son of Budivoj of Švihov as an approver has been mentioned. Afterwards when the Pušperk Castle (originally known as Fuchsberg) had been built close to Poleň, the village was sharing the destiny of this castle for centuries.

Poleá

The "pulley" (in Spanish: poleá) is a typical recipe of Andalusian cuisine, particularly Seville, Huelva and Cadiz. It is a variant of porridge typical of those used to consume in poor years (It was a common dish during the Spanish Civil War).

The dish is made with water, flour, salt, anise, milk and sugar. Other ingredients (such as fruit, honey or cinnamon) are sometimes added. It is usually served with fried bread.

Terminal (electronics)
