Sophia Peletier

Sophia Peletier is a fictional character from the comic series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Madison Lintz in the television series of the same name. She is the daughter of Carol Peletier, who is fiercely protective of her, as is Carl Grimes, with whom she becomes close friends during the zombie outbreak. She becomes a major focal point in both media, despite her limited involvement in many of the central conflicts faced by the other characters.

In the comics, Sophia is a member of the Atlanta refugee camp and becomes close friends with Carl, with whom she spends most her time - eventually becoming his girlfriend. Later, after her mother's suicide, she begins viewing Maggie and Glenn as her parents while remaining close to Carl. Although, because of the overrun world around them and their conflicting personalities, Sophia chooses to break up with Carl, though they still remain close friends and Carl is shown to be extremely protective of her. Sophia also becomes a resident of the Alexandria Safe-Zone and later the Hilltop Colony. She is the comic's longest surviving female character, along with Andrea.

Sophia Abrahão

Sophia Sampaio Abrahão is a Brazilian pop singer and actress, known for her starring role as Alice Albuquerque in the telenovela Rebelde.

Biography

Born in São Paulo, Sophia Abrahão started working as a model when she was 14 years-old, after she was discovered by a scout while walking with her mother, Branca Abrahão. She spent five months in China when she was 15 years-old, also traveling to Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore during her modeling career. After her retirement as a model, she studied theater at a theatrical company named Globe, and because of that, obtained a chance to make a test to work in Rede Globo's Malhação telenovela, in which she was cast as Felipa.

Career

She started her acting career in 2007, playing the role of Felipa in Rede Globo's telenovela Malhação, and leaving the telenovela in 2009. Sophia Abrahão guest starred in Multishow's television series Bicicleta e Melancia in 2010, playing the role of Gabi. She plays the lead role in Rede Record's telenovela Rebelde, which is a Brazilian adaptation of the Mexican telenovela of the same name and the original version is the Argentine soap opera Rebelde Way. Sophia Abrahão played Alice Albuquerque, who is the equivalent character as Anahí's Mia Colucci in the Mexican telenovela.

Sophia (Nerina Pallot song)

"Sophia" is the second single released from the re-release of Nerina Pallot's second album, Fires. It was released on October 2, 2006. It was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the category of Best Song (Musically and Lyrically).

The single includes Pallot's cover of Kylie Minogue's "Confide in Me".

Charts

Unofficially, it entered at #86 in the UK Singles Chart before jumping to its peak of #32 in its first official week on the chart. "Sophia" is Pallot's second most successful hit single, after "Everybody's Gone To War", giving her a second Top 40 hit on the UK Singles Chart.

The single also peaked at #12 on the UK Airplay Chart in October 2006.

Video

The video for "Sophia" was shot in a desert in Morocco, and directed by John Hillcoat.

In the video, Nerina is playing a piano and singing in the desert, while flames continue to grow around her. During the song, the piano Nerina is playing catches fire but she continues playing it, and finally, Nerina is surrounded in a fire circle. The video is described as 'beautiful' and a great contrast to the lighter video for "Everybody's Gone to War" previously.

Free (The Party album)

Free is The Party's second studio album. Teddy Riley wrote three songs for the album, including the new jack swing-tinged title song, "Free," which was also remixed by house-music legends Steve "Silk" Hurley and E-Smoove. Dr. Dre produced the song "Let's Get Right Down to It," and the group itself also got involved in the writing and producing of the album, which would once again land it another concert tour opening spot with Color Me Badd, its last special for the Disney Channel, "All About The Party," and an appearance on Blossom. However, the album was not as successful on the charts as previous ones, which prompted Damon Pampolina to leave the group.

  • Free: The Future of a Radical Price

Free: The Future of a Radical Price is the second book written by Chris Anderson, Editor in chief of Wired magazine. The book was published on July 7, 2009 by Hyperion. He is also the author of The Long Tail, published in 2006.

    Overview

Free follows a thread from the previous work. It examines the rise of pricing models which give products and services to customers for free, often as a strategy for attracting users and up-selling some of them to a premium level. That class of model has become widely referred to as "freemium" and has become very popular for a variety of digital products and services.

    Release

Free was released in the United States on July 7, 2009, though the night before, on his blog, Chris Anderson posted a browser readable version of the book and the unabridged audiobook version. Anderson generated controversy for plagiarizing content from the online encyclopedia Wikipedia in Free. Anderson responded to the claim on his The Long Tail blog, stating that there were disagreements between him and the publisher over accurate citation of Wikipedia due to the changing nature of its content, leading him to integrate footnotes into the text. Also on his blog, he took full responsibility for the mistakes and noted that the digital editions of Free were corrected. The notes and sources were later provided as a download on his blog.

    Free (Marcus Miller album)

Free is an album by jazz bassist Marcus Miller, released in 2007.

The album's title track is a cover of the 1977 Deniece Williams song. UK soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae provided lead vocals. "Higher Ground" is a song originally recorded by Stevie Wonder, and "What Is Hip" was originally performed by Tower of Power. "Jean Pierre" was originally performed by Miles Davis (On "We Want Miles", 1982). Blues singer Keb' Mo' performs lead vocals and co-wrote with Marcus Miller the track entitled "Milky Way".

The album's US version has not only a new title, Marcus, but the tracks have been remixed/recut. Four additional tracks have been added to the album as well.

    PLAYLIST TIME:

    No Love Lost

    by: Warsaw

    So long sitting here --
    Didn't here the warning
Waiting for the tape to run
    We've been moving round
    in different situations
Knowing that the time would come,
Just to see you torn apart --
    I need it (3)
    Two-way mirror in the hall
They like to watch everything you do
    Transmitters hidden in the wall
So they know everything you say is true
Turn it on -- don't turn it on -- Turn it on
You've been seeing things in darkness --
    running, learning
Hoping that the truth will pass
    No life underground wasting,
    never changing
Wishing that this thing won't last
To never see you show your age
    To watch the feeling fades
