Fred Kendall
Fred Kendall (born January 31, 1949 in Torrance, California) was a catcher for parts of 12 seasons in Major League Baseball for the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians, and Boston Red Sox.
His son, Jason Kendall was a catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, and Kansas City Royals in the major leagues.
Baseball career
In 1973 he was voted Most Valuable Padre after setting career high marks in batting average (.282) and in home runs (10).
Kendall managed the South Bend Silver Hawks, a Chicago White Sox affiliate in the Midwest League, in 1995 and was a Kansas City Royals bull pen coach.
