Freak like Me

"Freak Like Me" is the debut single by American R&B singer Adina Howard. It was released on January 25, 1995 as the lead single from her debut album Do You Wanna Ride?. It reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of one million copies.

The song's drum beat is sampled from Sly & the Family Stone's "Sing a Simple Song". The song also samples "I'd Rather Be with You" by Bootsy's Rubber Band.

The Strange Case Of...

The Strange Case Of... is the second full-length studio album by the rock band Halestorm, released on April 10, 2012. The album was produced by Howard Benson, who also produced the band's self-titled debut album. The first single and video from the album "Love Bites (So Do I)" won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. The song "Here's to Us" was performed on the US television show, Glee, with clean lyrics. Four of the album's songs were previously released on the sneak-preview EP Hello, It's Mz. Hyde. A deluxe edition of the album was also released containing three bonus tracks. A different version of the song "Here's to Us" featuring multiple guests including Slash was included on the reissue version of the standard and deluxe version of the album in 2013. In interviews about the album, Hale noted that the album was heavier than their previous album, but was significantly closer to the sound of them live.

The album debuted at No. 7 on Top Rock Albums and No. 15 on the Billboard 200, selling 24,000 copies in its first week. It has sold 387,000 copies in the US as of April 2015.

Jim Rose Circus

The Jim Rose Circus is a modern-day version of a circus sideshow. It was founded in Seattle by Jim Rose in the early 1990s. The sideshow came to prominence to an American audience as a second stage show at the 1992 Lollapalooza festival, then called the "Jim Rose Circus Sideshow", although they had made several TV appearances in the UK before this time. Rolling Stone magazine called the show an "absolute must-see act" and USA Today termed Rose's troupe "Lollapalooza's word-of-mouth hit attraction".

Tours

After Lollapalooza, in 1993 Jim Rose headlined seven world tours and released a self-titled video on Rick Rubin's American Recordings that quickly became a cult classic.

In 1994, the Jim Rose Circus was chosen to tour with Nine Inch Nails, Pop Will Eat Itself and a then-unknown Marilyn Manson, and later with KoRn and Godsmack. 1998 saw another world tour featuring female sumo wrestling, Mexican transvestite wrestling and chainsaw football. The show landed Rose and troupe in jail in Lubbock, Texas and for four months the show was banned from New Zealand. Rose claimed that it was one of his highest-grossing shows, reportedly netting over 4 million dollars.

Like Me

"Like Me" is the official debut single by the American girl group Girlicious. It was released to iTunes on April 22, 2008, a day before the group was formed in the season finale of the reality television show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Since Tiffanie's departure, Chrystina Sayers performs her part of the bridge and melismatic vocals.

Release

On iTunes, "Like Me" was released on April 22, 2008 one day prior to The CW's airing of the finale, allowing many fans to find out who won before the finale aired. A 1:30 preview of the song was released on their official website on April 22, 2008. On September 19, 2008 the single was sent to radio in India.

Chart performance

Without being sent to radio or a physical release, the single managed to debut at number two on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles and number seventy on the Pop 100 solely based on digital sales. In addition, during the week of May 1, 2008, "Like Me" made a "Hot Shot Debut" at number four on the Canadian Hot 100 becoming an instant hit in Canada.

Nasti Muzik

Nasti Muzik is the third studio album from American rap artist Khia. The album was released on July 22, 2008 on Thug Misses Entertainment/Big Cat Records. One of the feature producers on the album is DJ Craze, with Gucci Mane and Maceo being the featured guest artists on the album.

"What They Do" was the first single off the album but did not chart but had a successful underground and streets impact. The second single, "Be Your Lady", was produced by Tampa's Push-a-Key Productions.

It tells the story of a group of four young adults navigating the social media minefield, looking for each other, for love, for validation and ultimately, for themselves – in amongst a cyber world populated by thousands of ‘followers’ and ‘friends’. Haunted by a lack of self-confidence and self-respect, Emma, Ashley, Luke and Charlie face physical, emotional and psychological challenges, leading them to question their very identity.

Originally conceived as a song cycle by Garry Lake and performed at the Duplex, New York and the CMO Club at the Conrad Hilton, the full-book musical was first seen in a showcase performance at the Courtyard Theatre, London October 3, 2014. Most recently, Like Me - The Social Media Musical was showcased at The Waterloo East Theatre on April 11, 2015.
