Tantric is an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. Altogether Tantric has released six studio albums and one EP Tantric (2001),After We Go (2004),The End Begins (2008),Broken Down...Live in the Poconos (2008),Mind Control (2009),37 Channels (2013) and Blue Room Archives (2014)
Tantric released their latest album Blue Room Archives, on September 30, 2014.
Lead vocalist Hugo Ferreira is the only remaining founding member left in the group.
After leaving Days of the New in November 1998 guitarist Todd Whitener, bassist Jesse Vest, and drummer Matt Taul reached out to Massachusetts native Hugo Ferreira (formerly of the band Merge) in early 1999 to see if he would be interested in starting a new project together. The former Days of the New members had previously met Ferreira during a tour and admired his distinct baritone voice. By March that year, the four had their first practice together upon Ferreira's move to Nashville. The band started under the name C-14 but soon changed their name to Tantric. With the help of friends in Louisville radio, the band quickly gained local exposure.
Tantric is the debut album of American post-grunge band of the same name. It was released February 13, 2001 and debuted at #193 on the Billboard 200. The album would eventually peak at #71 and reached platinum status due to the hit-single "Breakdown," as well as follow up singles "Astounded" and "Mourning."
In November 1998, after a turbulent relationship on the road, Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest, and Matt Taul were released from their duties in Days of the New. The day they were fired, the three were cutting instrumental demos for what would become songs on Tantric. However, in the meantime, Whitener, Vest, and Taul would have to survive through low-wage jobs.
In March 1999, singer Hugo Ferreira moved to Nashville, and within their first practice session together the group began developing songs. Within six months, the band had written a plethora of material and, thanks to local friends in radio, quickly gained a strong fan base in their native Louisville, Kentucky. After the band's demo caught the attention of Maverick Records late the following year, they were signed and began recording their self-titled album with producer Toby Wright.
Francis may refer to:
FRANCIS is an academic bibliographic database maintained by INIST. FRANCIS covers the core academic literature in the humanities and social sciences with special emphasis on European literature.
The following characters had significant roles in the American television comedy series Malcolm in the Middle, which was originally televised from 2000–2006 on the Fox Network.
Originally there were four brothers (although Malcolm's oldest brother attended a military school away from home, so Malcolm was still the middle sibling left at home). A fifth son was introduced in the show's fourth season, a boy named Jamie. The boys are, from eldest to youngest: Francis, Reese, Malcolm, Dewey, and Jamie. In the final episode, Lois discovered she was pregnant with a sixth child. In the third season, Francis travels home (to celebrate his father's birthday) with an Alaskan girl named Piama, and reveals that they are married.
During the first season, the writers decided to keep the family's last name a mystery. In the fifth season episode "Reese Joins the Army (1)", Reese uses a fake ID by the name of "Jetson" to lie about his age. In the series finale, "Graduation", Francis' employee ID reads "Nolastname" (or "No Last Name", a joke referring to the fact that the family name was never spoken aloud). In the same episode when Malcolm was introduced to give the graduation speech, the speaker announces Malcolm's name, but microphone feedback makes his surname inaudible, even though he does appear to mouth the phrase "No last name".
