Fox River Mall

Fox River Mall is a mall located at 4301 W Wisconsin Ave., Appleton, Wisconsin) in the United States. This mall opened on July 18, 1984.

History

The mall opened on July 18, 1984 with only one anchor store, Sears, along with 67 other stores, a movie theater, and a Walgreens drugstore. Expanded several times in its history, it became the largest mall in Wisconsin as of 2014, with 1.2 million square feet.

Surroundings

The Fox River Mall is a super regional shopping center of 1,210,000 square feet (112,000 m²), located on approximately 137 acres (0.55 km²) of land. It is the largest shopping mall in northeast Wisconsin and second largest in the state, with over 180 stores. It is anchored by JCPenney, Sears, Macy's, Younkers, Scheels All Sports and Target. It also has a large food court called the Northwoods Café which includes more than a dozen counter vendors such as, Charley's Grilled Subs, Cold Stone, McDonald's, Panda Express, Rocky Rococo, Subway, and Taco Johns as well as the local Fratello's restaurant. There is a strip mall on the premises called Fox River Plaza. Fox River State Penitentiary

Fox River State Penitentiary is a fictional level one maximum-security prison featured prominently in the first season (and briefly in the second season) of the television series Prison Break. The real-life counterpart of the prison is the Joliet Correctional Center originally known as the Illinois State Penitentiary, located in Joliet, Illinois. The fictional prison is probably named after the real Fox River, about 20 miles outside Joliet, Illinois.

Structural organization

Fox River State Penitentiary assumes many characteristics of its real-life counterpart, Joliet Prison. Its structure and layout are the same, with the exception of its three-tiered A-wing in contrast to the two tiers in Joliet Prison.

As shown in the episodes "Riots, Drills and the Devil (Part one and two)", the general prison population is divided into east and west cell blocks in A and B wings respectively. These two wings are completely segregated by the South wing, which holds the administration staff. In a subsequent episode, "The Old Head", it is revealed that the infirmary is located on the opposite end of the prison to the A wing. A storage room, which later became the correctional officers' break room, is located at the center of the prison, directly above the underground pipes.

Fox River (Little Wabash tributary)

The Fox River is a tributary of the Little Wabash River in southern Illinois. It rises in Jasper County to the southeast of Newton and flows south past Olney, then joins the Little Wabash at the northeast corner of Edwards County, near Mt. Erie. The river is 46.4 miles (74.7 km) in length.

There is a smaller "Fox River" that is a tributary of the Wabash River in southern Illinois, entering the Wabash near New Harmony, Indiana.
