Forever (Kiss song)

"Forever" is a song by the American rock band Kiss. It was released as the second single from the 1989 album Hot in the Shade.

Background

The track was co-written by guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley and singer/songwriter Michael Bolton. Bolton was then at the peak of his commercial popularity, and Bruce Kulick had performed with him prior to joining Kiss.

Musically, "Forever" is a power ballad. It begins with Stanley singing over an acoustic guitar intro, with the rest of the band joining during the first chorus.

The song was remixed at Electric Lady Recording Studios in New York, by Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson for commercial release as a single. A music video was released to promote the song. It received heavy airplay on MTV, attaining the #1 position on the channel's "Most Requested Videos" show several times. The clip is perhaps the most understated video Kiss has released, as it shows the band (then consisting of Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr) playing the song in an empty room.

Frail Words Collapse

Frail Words Collapse is the second studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. The album is their first release on the record label Metal Blade Records. Only two of the five current band-members (drummer Jordan Mancino and frontman Tim Lambesis) appeared on the album. Two of the band's signature songs, "94 Hours" and "Forever", appear on the album.

Music videos have been produced for the songs "94 Hours" and "Forever." The album has sold 250,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Seraphim (band)

Seraphim (六翼天使) is a Taiwanese power metal band.

History

Formed in 2001 in the City of Taipei, Taiwan, they recorded their first song "Love Hate" for a demo weeks later, gaining notice and eventually a contract from Magnum Music (Taiwan) in April. Within a month they recorded their first album The Soul That Never Dies (不死魂), which was released in August.

Following the album's release they did a few shows to help promote it, and by November they started writing new material for a second album. In January 2002 they were invited to perform at the Kung-Ming music festival in China. Soon afterwards they began recording their second album, The Equal Spirit (平等精靈). Their debut album also gained a European release through the independent label Arise.

The second album was released in Taiwan on the 10th of September 2002.

After doing one show to promote the album guitarist Dan Chang left the band, and was replaced by Lucas Huang in December. An English version of The Equal Spirit was released on January 2003, and after a European release they participated in Taiwan's Midsummer Night Tour later that year. They released the Chinese Edition of Ai (愛), their third album, by February.

Seraphim Storheim

The monk Seraphim (Storheim), known prior to his October 2015 removal from holy orders as the retired Archbishop Seraphim of Ottawa, (born Kenneth William Storheim on 25 January 1946) is a former senior hierarch for the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). In 2014, a Canadian court convicted Storheim of child molestation. In 2015, he was deposed from the clergy by the Holy Synod of the OCA and returned to lay monk status.

Life

Kenneth William Storheim was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada of Norwegian and Scottish ancestry, and was raised as a Lutheran. Receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta, Storheim also studied at the Vancouver School of Theology in Vancouver, British Columbia and was ordained as an Anglican vicar. He converted to Eastern Orthodoxy in 1978, taking the name of Saint Seraphim of Sarov. He then attended St. Vladimir's Seminary in Crestwood, New York, where he was ordained in 1981.

Storheim lived at New Valamo Monastery in Finland and spent several years serving as an OCA parish priest throughout Canada and the United States. He was consecrated as auxiliary bishop of Edmonton in 1987, and became Bishop of the Diocese in 1990. He was elevated to the rank of archbishop at the 2007 meeting of the Holy Synod. As secretary of the Holy Synod of the OCA, Storheim served in a number of administrative capacities for the Holy Synod, and also traveled extensively in Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, and Europe. On September 4, 2008, the Holy Synod of the OCA named Storheim the administrator of the Metropolitan's See (as Secretary to the Holy Synod) to assist Metropolitan bishop Dmitri who was appointed locum tenens.
