Forever (Kiss song)

"Forever" is a song by the American rock band Kiss. It was released as the second single from the 1989 album Hot in the Shade.

Background

The track was co-written by guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley and singer/songwriter Michael Bolton. Bolton was then at the peak of his commercial popularity, and Bruce Kulick had performed with him prior to joining Kiss.

Musically, "Forever" is a power ballad. It begins with Stanley singing over an acoustic guitar intro, with the rest of the band joining during the first chorus.

The song was remixed at Electric Lady Recording Studios in New York, by Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson for commercial release as a single. A music video was released to promote the song. It received heavy airplay on MTV, attaining the #1 position on the channel's "Most Requested Videos" show several times. The clip is perhaps the most understated video Kiss has released, as it shows the band (then consisting of Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr) playing the song in an empty room.

Frail Words Collapse

Frail Words Collapse is the second studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. The album is their first release on the record label Metal Blade Records. Only two of the five current band-members (drummer Jordan Mancino and frontman Tim Lambesis) appeared on the album. Two of the band's signature songs, "94 Hours" and "Forever", appear on the album.

Music videos have been produced for the songs "94 Hours" and "Forever." The album has sold 250,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

    Main characters

    Rivals

    Professors

    Antagonists

    Team Rocket

Team Rocket (ロケット団 Roketto-dan, Rocket Gang) is an organization bent on world domination. Headed by Giovanni, their plan to steal and exploit Pokémon for profit and power is a central plot device used throughout the series. According to the anime, the organization only has bases in the Kanto and Johto regions; however, that does not stop the show's antagonist trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth from following Ash Ketchum to other areas around the Pokémon world. Often, members of Team Rocket are broken up into pairs in order to perform specific heists—like Jessie and James. In the English translations, the pairs are often given names which nod to iconic figures of the American Old West: Jesse James, Butch Cassidy, and Annie Oakley, as well as Atilla the Hun.

    Team Magma

Team Magma (マグマ団 Maguma-dan, Magma Gang) is one of the two villainous organizations in the Hoenn Region. They are a group of experts in the fields of geology and plate tectonics. Like Team Rocket, some rebels are Pokémon thieves, but Team Magma specializes in the field of Fire and Ground type Pokémon. In Pokémon Ruby, the team acts as the main crime team antagonists.

    Forever Gone

    by: Walkabouts

    Streaks of light
    On the graveyard walk
    Your bright star was crashin'
    Crashin' the dark
    Dreamed of a cold night
    To freeze it in place
Dreamed of ship bells and thunder
    Ringin' us under
    Dreamed all the way home
    That you'd never go
    Talked up and down it
    Mornin', noon and night
    Alone in the optimists chair
    Said our instincts were right
But now I know the clean choice
Was the worst choice of all
    I'd rather feel guilt
    Than this desert inside
    I'd rather steal wicked
    Than lay down in pride
    Gone forever
    Forever gone
Made a mess of this town
But that's what we always do
    Throwin' glass to the floor
    Now it's cuttin' right through
    More than a year's time
'Til ya give up the scheme
    My wood matches meltin'
The ghosts from your wedding ring
    Never trusted fate
But I wish that I had
    Fate is what answered
    Your slow cry for help
    Fate was your motive
    Your fate was yourself
    Gone forever
    Forever gone
Made a mess of this town
But that's what we always do
    Throwin' glass to the floor
    Now it's cuttin' right through
    Gone forever
    Forever gone
    I'd rather feel guilt
    Than this desert inside
    I'd rather steal wicked
    Than lay down in pride
