Forever (Medina song)

"Forever" is a song by Danish electropop singer Medina from her second English-language album Forever. The song was released as the album's lead single on April 13, 2012. "Forever" was translated into English from Medina's Danish number-one single "For altid". It samples the song "The One" (in the original Danish language version "For altid" - "Vi to"). "Forever" was written by Medina, Providers, Engelina Andrina, and Nazerine Henderson, and it was produced by Providers.

Music video

The music video was shot in New York and was directed by Michael Sauer Christensen. The video premiered on May 7, 2012 on her official myvideo.de channel and a day later on the labels YouTube channel.

Frail Words Collapse

Frail Words Collapse is the second studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. The album is their first release on the record label Metal Blade Records. Only two of the five current band-members (drummer Jordan Mancino and frontman Tim Lambesis) appeared on the album. Two of the band's signature songs, "94 Hours" and "Forever", appear on the album.

Music videos have been produced for the songs "94 Hours" and "Forever." The album has sold 250,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Forever (website)

FOREVER.com is a digital archive and internet storage start-up company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in May 2012, by successful Pittsburgh entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Glen Meakem, FOREVER is a digital archive where photographs, documents, video, and audio files can be preserved and shared securely and permanently. On September 28, 2012, the new company trademarked “ForeverTrust” for computer software which stores and retrieves personal documents.

History

After returning from active duty in the First Gulf War, Glen Meakem conducted video interviews with his grandparents and collected many of their old photographs. He quickly realized his need for a secure way to store his family’s memorabilia in perpetuity. The rise of digital technology, coupled with Meakem’s vision, led to the formation of FOREVER. Established in May, 2012, the company raised $9 million in its Series A financing round. FOREVER opened its downtown Pittsburgh office in January, 2013. (3) The company launched the first version of its website in August, 2013, to invited members. On November 22, 2013, FOREVER launched the first public version of the website. As of November, 2013, the company had raised around $15 million.

Era (geology)

A geologic era is a subdivision of geologic time that divides an eon into smaller units of time. The Phanerozoic Eon is divided into three such time frames: the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic represent the major stages in the macroscopic fossil record. These eras are separated by catastrophic extinction boundaries, the P-T boundary between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic and the K-T boundary between the Mesozoic and the Cenozoic. There is evidence that catastrophic meteorite impacts played a role in demarcating the differences between the eras.

The Hadean, Archean and Proterozoic eons were as a whole formerly called the Precambrian. This covered the four billion years of Earth history prior to the appearance of hard-shelled animals. More recently, however, those eons have been subdivided into eras of their own.

Earned run average

In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the mean of earned runs given up by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game). It is determined by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings pitched and multiplying by nine. Runs resulting from defensive errors (including pitchers' defensive errors) are recorded as unearned runs and are not used to determine ERA.

Origins

Henry Chadwick is credited with first devising the statistic, which caught on as a measure of pitching effectiveness after relief pitching came into vogue in the 1900s. Prior to 1900 – and, in fact, for many years afterward – pitchers were routinely expected to pitch a complete game, and their win-loss record was considered sufficient in determining their effectiveness.

Some criterion was needed to capture the apportionment of earned-run responsibility for a pitcher in games that saw contributions from other pitchers for the same team. Since pitchers have primary responsibility to put opposing batters out, they must assume responsibility when a batter they do not retire at the plate moves to base, and eventually reaches home, scoring a run. A pitcher is assessed an earned run for each earned run scored by a batter (or pinch-runner) who reached base while batting against that pitcher. After pitchers like James Otis Crandall and Charlie Hall made names for themselves as relief specialists, gauging a pitcher's effectiveness became more difficult using the traditional method of tabulating wins and losses. The National League first kept official earned run average statistics in 1912 (the statistic was called "Heydler's statistic" for a while, after then-NL secretary John Heydler), with the American League following suit afterward.

Siné

Maurice Sinet (born 31 December 1928), known as Siné, is a French political cartoonist. His work is noted for its anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism, anti-clericalism, and anarchism.

Biography

As a young man Siné studied drawing and graphic arts, while earning a living as a cabaret singer. His first published drawing appeared in France Dimanche in 1952. Siné received the Prix de l'Humour noir in 1955 for his collection Complainte sans Paroles. His series of drawings on cats was his breakthrough. He then started working for L'Express as a political cartoonist.

Siné's anti-colonialism caused controversy during the Algerian war. He was sued a number of times, being defended by Jacques Vergès, then a lawyer for the Algerian Liberation Front.

In 1962 Siné left L'Express and published a book of his work called Siné Massacre, noted for its anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism, anti-clericalism, and anarchism. On reviewing the book, the British satirical magazine Private Eye described Siné's cartoons as "grotesque," and criticised publisher Penguin Books for its managerial incompetence.
