Ford Fusion may refer to:

Ford Fusion (Americas)

The Ford Fusion is a mid-size car produced by Ford. Introduced in the 2006 model year, it placed second in a Car and Driver ranking of top-selling mid-size cars, which described it as "Not your father's Taurus" The 2010 model was awarded the Motor Trend Car of the Year and its hybrid version won the 2010 North American Car of the Year Award. The Fusion is manufactured at Ford's Hermosillo Stamping & Assembly where the similar (and now discontinued) Mercury Milan and the Lincoln MKZ were also built. All three cars utilize the CD3 platform.

Production on the first Fusions began on August 1, 2005. The Fusion replaced the Mondeo for the Latin American markets—except in Argentina (where the current European Mondeo is available) and in the United States and Canada (where it superseded the then mid-size Taurus). The Fusion is positioned between the compact Ford Focus and full-size Ford Taurus. In the Middle East, this model is sold alongside the Mondeo. Versions sold there are available only with the 2.5-litre engine. Unlike in the United States, Canada and Latin America, no V6 engine is available in that region. The same is true in South Korea, where only the 2.5-liter engines (including those for the hybrid model) are available as of the 2012 model year.

Ford Fusion (Europe)

The European Ford Fusion is a vertically stretched version of the Ford Fiesta supermini that was produced by Ford Europe from 2002 to 2012.

The design includes elements of both estates and multi-purpose vehicles. Its extra height compared with the Fiesta is due to increased ground clearance and taller roof, which makes it roomier and more comfortable for taller drivers than regular superminis, drawing it closer to mini MPVs and mini SUVs.

Ford also used the name "Fusion" before the launch of the European Ford Focus, in communications with contractors working on elements of that model's launch publicity. Ford did not reveal whether the late change to "Focus" had been the result of a genuine change in its plans, or simply a desire to conceal the real name from the press until the company was ready for the launch.

In November 2005, a revised version of the Fusion went on sale. A number of cosmetic changes were introduced: both front and rear lights feature new detailing; and bumpers, side mouldings and door mirrors were also altered. Furthermore, a bright new colour palette was introduced. Inside, the dashboard featured both a new design, and high-quality 'soft touch' materials. A new analogue instrument display features in a style similar to the Mk 2 Ford Focus.

Ford Fusion Hybrid

The Ford Fusion Hybrid is a gasoline-electric hybrid powered version of the mid-size Ford Fusion sedan developed by the Ford, and launched to the U.S. market in March 2009 as a 2010 model year, together with its twin the Mercury Milan Hybrid. The second generation Ford Fusion Hybrid, released as a 2013 model year, went on sale in the U.S. in October 2012. A plug-in hybrid version, the Ford Fusion Energi, was released in the U.S. in February 2013.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rated the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid at 39 mpg_-US (6.0 L/100 km; 47 mpg_-imp) combined city/highway. The second generation hybrid improved the fuel economy rating to 42 mpg_-US (5.6 L/100 km; 50 mpg_-imp) for combined city/highway driving. The EPA rated the Energi's combined city/highway fuel economy in all-electric mode at 88 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (MPG-e) (2.7 L gasoline equivalent/100 km; 106 mpg_-imp). In hybrid operation (charge-sustaining mode), the Energi has a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg_-US (6.2 L/100 km; 46 mpg_-imp).
