Life Left to Go received highly favorable reviews from critics. Tom Spinelli of Melodic.net, who gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5, declared that "if you are looking for the modern rock album of the year, this may be a top contender in your collection", as "SatefySuit releases their masterful, epic debut Life Left To Go with enormous melodic power".Alternative Addiction described Life Left to Go as "easily the best debut album so far in 2008", praising both frontman Doug Brown as "an impressive vocalist...[who] absolutely gets what it takes to make a great song--good melody and good lyrics", and Dave Garofolo, whose guitar work he called "original and unorthodox...[He is] what makes SafetySuit unique".Sputnikmusic notes that "it’s hard to point out the best songs because nothing in here is disappointing", and that SafetySuit "really seem[s] to have a bright future in the music industry". However, they do criticize the band for the narrow topical range in their lyrics, saying that "my only problem resides on the lyrical part, they’re all about love songs and relationship issues."

Petra (Arabic: البترا, Al-Batrāʾ; Ancient Greek: Πέτρα), originally known as Raqmu to the Nabataeans, is a historical and archaeological city in the southern Jordanian governorate of Ma'an that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved.
Established possibly as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the Arab Nabataeans, it is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction. It lies on the slope of Jebel al-Madhbah (identified by some as the biblical Mount Hor) in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah (Wadi Araba), the large valley running from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
The site remained unknown to the western world until 1812, when it was introduced by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. It was described as "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a Newdigate Prize-winning poem by John William Burgon. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage". Petra was named amongst the New7Wonders of the World in 2007 and was also chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the "28 Places to See Before You Die".

No one ever noticed Annie weeping
People all around, but she was alone
Mama's got her meeting and Daddy's got his job
But no one's got the time, Annie's on her own
No one ever knew her desperation
People couldn't hear her cry out silently
Locked inside the bathroom she grabs a jar of pills
The medicine that cures becomes the poison that kills
And it's too late for Annie
She's gone away for good
There's so much we could tell her
And now we wish we could
But it's to late, it's too late for Annie
Sadness fills the hearts of Annie's family
Daddy tries to comfort Mama uselessly
They hoped she knew they loved her
But they really didn't know
They just want to know
Why did their baby go?
If only we'd have known her situation
We'd have tried to stop this useless tragedy
Annie's lost forever, never to be found
But there are lots of others like her all around
And it's not too late for Annie
She could be next to you
Don't miss the chance to tell her
Before her life is through
We gotta tell her Jesus loves her
Tell her Jesus cares
Tell her He can free her
And her burdens bear
